Well, eventually it will get to the point where we have no choice but choose our own best interest over everything else. When that'll happen, who knows.

I mean, I just saw some headlines with several politicians suggesting border checks between Schengen countries, namely between your country and mine. We're at the point where cooperation between countries is becoming difficult. Hungary went ahead and built a fence. Not "shut the borders" level stuff yet, but still.

Oh I know it is, but I'm officially washing my hands off this whole mess. Let everyone squabble, it doesnt change the reality of the situation. The problem isnt going to go away no matter how many fences you build or borders you close. When you've created an army of disenfracnhised people who's been passed around like human garbage long enough, we'll see the real consequences.

Hacker group Anonymous claims ISIS is planning 'worldwide day of terror' Nov 22nd.

I do wonder if anything will actually come out of this.

Well, that's today where I am and nothing's happened as far as I can tell. I honestly hope it's nothing.

No offense intended, but I don't think ISIS really cares about Australia? I mean, it's weird how much people ignore Australia completely. Especially Hollywood. If you asked someone in Hollywood to name the major continents nobody remembers Australia exists. It's sad but it's true.

Anyway, i wonder if they do have anything planned? There have been quite a few events in the past week. It's possible, but they might call it off if Anonymous' list is a true thing. I would imagine the security at those venues would be aware of the news and be on high alert.

Australia isn't a continent

Huh. In France we call that place Oceania because it's not just freakin' Australia that's there. You guys are weirdos!

The website that I got that picture off labels all countries within that area as "Australia and Oceania."
So we're both half right.

Australia's the continent/country and Oceania is the region?

I was taught that Australia was the name of the continent and of the country. *shrug* Americans, right?

We call it Oceania here too. Must be because it was coined by a French guy.

Oceania is used for the geopolitical or biologic area, while Australia is the geological entity. The actual Australian plate includes a large chunk of the Indian ocean and only a part of New Guinea, New Zealand and Melanesia and doesn't include Micronesia, so the two really are distinct concepts.

I use AZ for all my geography knowledge.

Yeah I was aware of the geological thing, just that it was mentioned in a geographical/ geopolitical context. Thanks for the info AZ!
