Finally started exercising again, thought I'd try doing a short light workout with dumbbells every day so that I actually stick to it. I'm doing
20 x bicep curls with 2x 8kg
20 x crunches
10 x lateral raises with 2x 8kg
20 x crunches
2 x 15 x one-arm tricep extensions with 2x 8kg
20 x crunches
20 x squats with 2 x 10kg
20 x crunches
20 x pushups
20 x crunches
15 x tricep dips

with a short breather in between each set I can get this done in a little over half an hour. I was wondering if anyone had any tips/tutorials for harder variations of crunches or best form in then because even with so many I feel my abs aren't worked enough. I tried weighted crunches but they felt pretty awkward with dumbbells. Also my lateral raises are sad and I lose good form after 5x.

Lateral raises are hard, that's why. I'd suggest dumbbell rows and some form of dumbbell bench press/incline bench press so your chest and the rest of the shoulders doesn't get ignored.
Pullups/chinups would be nice too if there's a place you can do them at.
For crunches, I can't really think of anything you can do by yourself that would be more difficult, maybe hollow body rocks or bent hollow body rocks (those are a bit easier of the two). If you can somehow do it, incline situps are pretty nice too if done correctly but I can't imagine you'd have anything at home where you'd be able to do them.

Thanks for the advice, I've incorporated bench presses and I put a pillow under my booty to create some sort of slight incline for crunches (idk if that's helping though).

Fuuuck, working out during this heat is torture.

Getting a gym membership would be the obvious advice for the future, 10kg only get you so far. Or you could switch completely to bodyweight exercises, but you'd have to find a good progression, there's way too many "5 minute bodyweight routine!" or "train like [insert celebrity here]!" things floating around that are complete shit.

I've been thinking about hitting the gym again but I always found excuses not to go etc. I like working out at home for now, more convenient.

I switched up the crunches a bit with some sit-ups, leg-raises and side crunches, less boring that way and working out the side abs too.

Under good lighting.

Started going to the gym since my tuition covers it as well. One week in and I'm so sore. Lifting is fine, but running is giving me shin splints so bad.

I worked out today for the first time after 5 months of not doing it, and this is exactly me:

Also, I want to eat a cheese burger so much right now, omg. I only weigh about 105 pounds so it shouldn't be that big a deal right? All I work out for is to gain muscle strength and stamina.

Don't quote me on this, because I'm definitely not an expert, but I believe a lot of people that work out regularly have splurge days like once a week where they eat what they want. Also, from what I understand, dieting isn't as important when you're young.

I've only been working out for a couple weeks now though, with a small history of it in the past, so I could very easily be wrong.

Oh, I've heard of that too, yeah. I don't think I'll ever diet, though, maybe just eat healthier a bit. My diet is pretty good anyway since I usually eat Filipino food and rice. I ate a double doubke from In N Out, btw. My stomach kinda hurt when I did, but that was probably cuz of all the core work outs my friend and I did. I still feel like it was worth getting though, haha.

Dieting is really only important if you want to LOSE weight from excersizing, if you're trying to build strength and stamina you need to eat more protein and carbs anyway.

If you really want to get maximum GAINZ, dieting is also very important. It's just that you eat very different things than on a regular diet (and a LOT more). I wouldn't worry too much about it when you're just starting out.

Started going to the gym as well. Picked up a 2-part starters program. Got pretty heavy aches after the first couple trips but those quickly vanished so I think I'll start pushing the weights up a bit and see how much I can do. Doing it for general fitness really, I've lost weight considerably if the scale is to be believed, used to weigh a good 100kg and now I'm down to 81kg. I couldn't tell nor did I ever believe that 100kg reading but my sisters keep commenting that I do look slimmer so it must be true, heh.

Got a fitbit on discount through work, the default goal is 10k steps

I get some 20k+ while moving freight on a work day so that's cool I guess

I should start working out on a schedule again though

Started going to the gym again. I managed to gain 6 kg since the start of summer and my body fat % seems to have stayed roughly the same, so I'm pretty pop flyin' about that. At 76 kg now.
