AWKWARD ZOMBIE

I have no intention of playing even a neutral run where i kill much (because I DONT FEEL LIKE BEING BURDENED WITH THE GUILT OF KILLIN) but learning about sparing papyrus to ruin a genorun bodaciously made me cry a little, jeez

This game is messed up and messes me up. We got to the part with goat dad king, and we died over and over and over and only hurt him a little but never killed him. But then that total jerk asshole of a flower ruined it all and killed him! We could've been with goat mom and had butterscotch pie but no, it had to be majorly creepy and keep closing and opening and closing and opening the game. Seriously the most creepy and scarring final FINAL boss I've ever seen in my entire life. We keep dieing and dieing to him. It's annoying, but WE ARE DETERMINED.

OH MY GOD I shouldn't have written and spoken so soon. It just keeps going and going and now we are getting help from the heart/souls within him and it's CRAZY. WHY ARE THE GRAPHICS SUDDENLY LIKE THIS?

...Okay, now we officially beat it. We didn't get the best ending, yet (we didn't visit Undyne or whatever), but we didn't ever kill anybody. So that's something to be proud of. I'm glad Noff didn't kill Flowy. I would've hit kill in a heart beat. We'll try and get the best ending tomorrow. But wow, this was totally worth staying up for. Incredible game. 10/10

I plan on getting this game, after seeing smarty fail at it, and meeting Sans and Papyrus. Which our my favorite set of brothers in a game.

I finally got Undertale and I absolutely adore it, especially after killing Toriel, restarting, and the game remembering some of the most innocuous things, like going back for her after sparing her or the fact that I restarting after killing her. I always play super thorough, I want to find all the secrets. I also want to squish that dumb flower.

I bought undertale. I had already watched a playthrough of a pacifist and neutral run so I jumped straight into having a bad time. Just got past Undyne. Took me about a dozen tries.

I tried out Hard mode yesterday and I kinda wish it lasted longer than the Ruins. It'd also be kinda neat if Toby ever decides to continue working on it that it could untaint your save if you did a genocide run at some point. Assuming you do a Hard mode pacifist run anyway. The only concern about this might be that it might go against some of his messages in the game that everything you do has a consequence. But I suppose it can be seen as going a path of forgiveness or something.

I can understand if he decides against working on it since it could possibly have so much more content, and knowing how thorough he is, I wouldn't be surprised if he made Hard mode versions of every possible path you could take in the regular game. New dialogue, new endings, who knows how much might be different. There's already slight variations in the demo of Hard mode after all.

I mean I love the characters and the humor in the game, it's just that sparing monsters is just another way of pressing the A button at different times in order to win. The gameplay is novel, just not super unique. RPG meets bullet hell. OK. Plus most of the bosses are spared in similar fashion and that's pretty disappointing to me.

The most interesting aspect of the game to me is permanent actions. That's pretty neat.

I DO LIKE THE GAME A LOT. I JUST DON'T THINK IT'S AS GREAT AS IT'S HYPED UP TO BE.

I thought it was over hyped too, so I didn't want to play it at first, but then I played it and feel like all the hype is kind of accurate. Although there is a lot of meme-ing with it and art stuff that I kind of didn't expect. It'll die down after a few weeks though, probably.

Please don't act like saying a game is overhyped makes you a terrible person

The fact that it got such extreme review scores is a shock in and of itself

It's definitely not the perfect and sublime RPG masterpiece people are making it out to be

That's actually the video that convinced me to buy the game. Also, I decided to stop having a bad time and now I'm having a really good time instead.

Unless Toby announces a Hard mode anytime soon, I'm thinking of doing a genocide run

Actually I would probably do a genocide run anyway just to prepare me for all the extreme dodging I'd have to do in Hard mode
