Transformers Devastation might actually be the most refined and fun Platinum game I have ever played.

It's bodaciously just their standard character-action formula, but it's so extremely polished and feels so nice. The upgrade systems are simple but allow for a lot of customization, everything feels like it hits hard and it's just so fucking fun.

My only complaint is that I'm two hours in and on chapter 3, and it's apparently a seven chapter game. So presumably the whole thing is about 5 hours long total, but there's the standard Platinum ranking system there as well, and you can go back to previous chapters whenever you want to increase your total score and find better items. Levels also seem pretty large, and have a whole crapton of secrets and side missions lying around. So the replayability is there, but I kind of wish there was just more to the base story.

I think I found a good game to play for October, and it's Ghost Trick. I haven't touched the game in years though, but I love this game's style. It was one of the biggest draws when I first played it.

I love that game. The first time I played it I had only borrowed it from my sister. However I liked it enough to pick up my own copy at a sale later.

Too bad THPS5 is so bad though.

Man, this talk of good transformers games really makes me want to go back and play the Transformers game for PS2, that game was fun as hell. The maps had loads of secrets and unlockable attacks that you could equip, and more would be available as you progress. There were like 3 different kinds of baddies, small ones, medium sized ones, and the large ones which were difficult to kill.

You also got to fight TIDAL WAVE. That was awesome. Wish the game got a digital release...

Playing good old Spyro the Dragon.
Despite loving the games I have honestly never finished the first 3. I played them but never beat them.
The first and only one I beat was Enter the Dragonfly.

Of course my completionist future self can't go on to the next level without finding every bit of treasure.

Took out the Necrons in Dark Crusade, holy shit, what a mission. Sneak a bomb into the enemy base, like Independence Day, except underground and more Terminator Endo-Skeletons.

Future Fight is a lot less grindy than contest of Champions.

Tales of Zestiria came out today in UK.
I love it so much and I've barely started it.
The battles are that different yet similar Tales style. You fight like you usually do but there are various changes.
The characters haven't really grown on me yet. I don't dislike them, I just feel... Eh.
The one I do like right now is Lailah.
I'm certain as the game goes on and new skits appear I'll open up more to them.

Edit: Edna just joined me and is amazing.
First skit involved asking Mikleo's name. Ended up with him saying "Call me anything you want."
"Meebo."
"It's Mikleo!"

I was right, skits are making me like everyone more.

One of the lead designers of the Nintendo Entertainment System, Masayuki Uemura, spoke at NYU today and explained a few things

Firstly, the front-loading slot was implemented to cash in on the VHS craze, where people would find it more familiar to insert cartridges the way they insert videotapes into their VCRs.

And the reason that the Zapper was bundled with the system was...

Oh my god Tales of Zestiria has memes.
Shiba Inu Ears attachment.
"A gallant dog's ears. Much soft. Very fluff."

I just left a cave. A party member said "Praise the sun!"

Meeeemes.
The team who translated Tales of Zestiria, I love you.

Wow, Wooly World is a really darn solid platformer, like, this is crazy good fun, its a bit easy to go through without getting hit, but there's not any power-ups from bonus games so 100% wouldn't be a fucking nightmare. Can't wait to get through it!

Wait, Woolly World was only released now in the US? That's crazy. I remember when I imported Kirby Super Star Ultra from the US 'cause Europe got it a year later.

Localized releases have been pretty wacky for some time now, but I think they're genuinely trying to get the games to Europe as fast as possible to make up for constant delays previously.
Delayed releases in general are bothersome, but I can't believe that people are starting to say "Europe is always so lucky, NoA doesn't care at all"
No, that is incorrect, if you are legitimately in this mindset you are wrong and stupid
