Homework is online and our teacher has the worst file system ever. To find it you have to open it, then WHAP folder, then homework, then week 2, then homework again, then week 2 again, then you actually get to the homework. She nested folders named exactly the same as the folder they were in.

Was my previous teacher reassigned to your school?

edit: Oh no I just got my schedule for the next semester and I have to wake up early every day and I have unused holes between classes all the time. At least my Fridays are over at 10AM, but that means I have to wake up early to waste 2 hours with the most useless, incompetent and unpleasant teacher.

Why is it that red velvet cake can't have anything other than cream cheese frosting?
I can't have any kind of red velvet cake because I don't like cream cheese frosting. Then I become the party pooper who won't eat the dessert.
Red velvet cake is pretty much just chocolate cake dyed red. What makes it so special that it specifically needs cream cheese frosting? It's chocolate cake, give it chocolate frosting. Not that hard. Or is that not "fancy" enough?

Apparently you can also use a French style of icing called "roux icing" but I can't make heads or tails of what that is and every red velvet cake I've come across uses cream cheese frosting, so whatever.

Red velvet cake is usually a cake with very little flavor on its own. It has very little cocoa powder and sugar content because it was invented during the war as a way to stretch rations for the whole family. The icing doesn't really matter to make the cake what it is (the recipe for the cake batter does though), but the cake benefits from having a rich and flavorful icing to accentuate the more bitter cake.

but most people don't do proper red velvet cakes anyways so I don't know why they bother being persnickety about these "rules" about the cake when they dress it up other ways or dye devil's food cake batter red (it looks ugly).

In addition to what Kamak already mentioned, it used to basically be a beet cake (like carrot cake, except turbo red), because beets are super sweet, without using sugar rations. It had a little chocolate added to make it more palatable, but it was mostly a very mild cake. It generally doesn't matter what kind of frosting you use as long as it's white, for the sake of the color contrast. I don't know why you would dislike cream cheese frosting, but to each their own, I guess.
