I keep hearing more and more about shootings happening at movie theaters, and it's really starting to frustrate me. I don't understand what possesses people to think that's a good idea. It also makes me a bit nervous since I work at a movie theater as well.

I'm wondering if there might be something in the water or the air. People seem to be getting crazier by the day.

This is only the second theater shooting I've heard of, though. The other was at the Batman movie a few years ago. Were there others?

The answer is simpe - constant mass media attention. Unstable people see a way to get attention for themselves because the media wont stop airing this shit round the clock

So it is in the air. I was going to say something about the media, but I was concerned I'd have sounded like a broken record at this point.

Why the hell would someone want that much attention? Even in a good context, like being a rock star or an actor, getting a lot of attention would get old after the first minute at best. For me, anyways. Though I never really did like crowds and being the exact center of attention.

We're talking about highly unstable, socially osctrasized people with a grudge against the world. They WANT the attention, they desire it like water. Not only do they get to hurt someone anyone, it doesnt matter because everyoe is their enemy, but they'll also get all the fame and notoriety they feel they're denied. Theyre basically terrorists with no cause

So apparently the jury decided to allow Colorado taxpayers to provide James Holmes with food and housing for the rest of his natural life in return for him murdering twelve people in the Aurora theater's Dark Knight Rises shooting three years ago. Can't say I'm pop flyin' about that choice.
