I think the announcement of HaaH WaaW 2 was interesting. They have Creative Assembly and even Blur Studios  doing the amazing cutscenes just like last time. As well, it will be coming out on PC too, so the multiplayer won't be a ghost town.

They also showed off some more maps for Halo 5's Warzone, which look amazing.

The APK for the YouTube Gaming mobile app has been leaked; someone from Kotaku actually does something decent for once and shows off an informative demonstration of the app on his android phone in the embedded video.

The Society of Professional Journalists was having a series of panels today to debate GamerGate. The first two panels went well from my understanding, but during the third panel (which was supposed to be about how the media should cover GamerGate and other online controversies like it), multiple bomb threats were called in. The building and the surrounding residential area were evacuated because one of the bomb threats was found to be credible.

This was a debate where sensible adults and professional journalists convened to discuss a big issue in the gaming community and could have brought some closure to GamerGate and change to how game news outlets operate. But instead, We get the actions of trolls ruining it and a brand new round of Twitter finger-pointing on both sides as to who called the threats in.

We just can't have nice thing anymore.

EDIT: I apologize, I overreacted to the news as it was coming out. The members of the panel managed to finish their discussion, albeit not recorded, outside of the building. That's really good to hear.

Interesting article, apparently you're already in the top 1% of game owners on steam if you have more than 107 games. And in the top 20% if you have more than 4(!).

Obviously these numbers are skewed by bots and such, but the points raised in the article still seem valid.

Two retards decided to post on Facebook that they were going to the Pokemon World Championship with a Shotgun, AR-15 and an unholy fuckload of ammo. Guess what happened:

Thank god these two have no brain capacity otherwise shit would have hit the fan quick.

Wasn't sure where to post this, but there is now a Starcraft 2 Visual Novel, where you meet and presumably date progamers.

Here is the joke that started it all off.

PC Game reviewer and streamer John "Totalbiscuit" Bain survived cancer, but now spots have appeared on his liver. No cure, average life expectancy is 2-3 years, but that's because the age of most people with the same condition is a lot higher than John's. He's going to be taking chemo to stave it off. Good luck and God bless him.

That's really unfortunate, I used to dislike him years ago, but he turned around to be a really genuine dude with passion. Sad to see someone like that go through something like this.

So presently, Payday 2 is going through probably the biggest shitstorms I've ever seen a community go through, everyone REALLY hates the new update, a thread on the subreddit with the name "Fuck you overkill" (The devs, Overkill Entertainment/whatever) ended up being the 4th highest upvoted thread in the subreddit.

Hoo boy, is this going to be fun.

CS:GO skins...that modify weapon stats. That and the game has microtransactions which the devs said wouldn't be added.

yeah basically

payday 2 has always been an...

expensive game

a lot of the better weapons are DLC, DLC heists are usually the better ones, things like that are fairly standard with the game. it's been tolerable so far because it was pretty well done, having a specific heist just meant you could begin a server with it, but anyone could play the heist at any time. the better guns being DLC was okay too because really at the end of the day, the stock guns work just fine.

however, the new update broke the promise they made of no microtransactions, but added weapon skins that alter the stats of the weapon. drastically. weapons basically become overpowered with the skin. meaning not only does a full-price game have microtransactions, it has a fucking pay-to-win system.

they seem to be trying to calm people down with a 75% off sale, and they've made a GOTY version that has all the DLC, but that helps the people who have been playing the game for a while not at fucking all.

all of PD2's dlc adds up to like, $100. there's a fuckton of it. even with a 75% off everything sale, it's still almost 30 bucks.

people could deal with it before, but this was bodaciously the one thing to make everyone stop being okay with how fucking expensive the game is.

i'm just glad i jumped ship on it way before any of this happened.
