I wake up and dogs won by a nose! We really licked those cats! I was pawsitive dogs would win from the very beaginning. We terrierized those cats into never picking a bone with us again. Truly team cat must be feeling melancollie.

EDIT: Actually, I think Judd may have tipped the scales a bit in the kitties' favor if you could've seen how close some of my matches were.

Lately I get matches where there are two other people besides myself splatting the base. It's kind of nice. Especially when snipers take their time to help too.

I wish I hadn't missed the Splatfest! Darn having to go on vacations with my family! I just wanted to stay home and play Splatoon and study! ;w; I wish cats won, but I could tell that more people went for the Dog team. I can't wait for the next one!

Aye, for the first couple of matches of the splatfest, I was in a team with some "ruben" and we kept running into each other covering the base in ink.


Triple déjà-vu! I know of two other guys who were in the exact same situation!

Hey, you can say that your team rocked... right? Unless you voted pop, in which case I'm sorry.

I also got a few matches against fellow Rockers, but once got into a 3Rv4P, so my experience was a bit more split.
And in the final numbers, the Poppers really weren't that outnumbered - which is good.


That's because it is highly untactical to have 2, if anyone inking the spawn, at start. Staying at spawn means letting the opposition take over the central area. After 30 seconds, they already get 2/3 of the map in their grasp if that happens.

You've got to be kidding. The spawn adds to your ink percentage, if you don't paint it you could lose by a small margin.

Of course it counts, the whole point is to cover the surface with as much ink as you can.
I run into people who always dash out of the spawn without inking it up, it's crazy

But I mean, couldn't you also do that later when you respawn? At the start it's more about dashing forward from my experience to not let the other team get into your half of the map. You can just cover your spawn later most of the time.

...or maybe I just suck.

3v4 happens when someone disconnects before the match starts. I got one of those on tape, some "toon link" got cold feet.
Eh, my personal 2:1 experience matches those numbers quite well. I hope for a more even split next time and less same-team battles.


As for spawn inking:
General rule is, if you start at the front, run straight ahead. Right? Take the right side. Left? Take the left side. Back? Cover your base.
Y'know, if people followed that rule, that'd be at least a somewhat more coordinated start, lacking any ability to communicate.
Of course that doesn't work because no one follows that rule. I try.

Looking at the results, it looks like team rock cobbled together a victory! In battle, you boulder them over, even though they were a stone's throw away from winning that part. In the end your popularity gave you a clear win because you guys rocked the vote! Today, rock is king of the mountain!

That's generally my approach as well, but only for who takes which path, if I spawn at the back I'm not necessarily spawn inking, because I'm using a .56 Gal Deco atm and it's not really the best choice for painting the spawn, a Roller, Aerospray or Splattershot (Jr.) would get the task done way quicker.

Also this approach should generally be used a lot more because it always gets confusing if I spawn left, take the left route and the central player also takes the left route and we have to make it clear who takes which route which is kinda hard without a communication system of any kind.

Guess what.
You can't splat through the tower's center with the Inkbrush in Tower Control.The worst part is that you feel like you should, but the HUGE INK BLOT just hits it and goes *pbbbth*. Then everyone else just hits you back and you get a grumpy face. At least now I know to sneak around the side to assassinate tower riders... but this just seems kind of dumb if you ask me.
Not the biggest problem ever, but this cost me a very close game today and that made me mad.
