I saw some articles online today about one of the characters in Fates clearly being lesbian/bisexual(kinda getting different accounts on that), and in her supports with the Male Avatar, he gives her a drug that makes her see men as women and vice versa, "fixing the problem".

That's pretty disgusting, Nintendo.

Yeah...I heard about that. I'm not entirely sure if it's true, but if it is, I'm not getting the game. This is just sick.

Game journalists bodaciously taking things from tumblr and 4chan and not doing any fact-checking? These sites have reached a new low. I can't wait to see how Nintendo censors the game now.

Ah, OK, thanks for the new information, guys. It's not quite as bad as I originally thought.

Still, I do feel that the whole scenario could have been handled a lot better.

Yeah, it's a bit better than I thought, but it still sounds kinda…iffy.

Of course, now that Nintendo has been backed into a corner by Internet outrage based off of poor research, we're sure to get Fire Emblem Fates: Jelly Donut Version™ with that scenario and others excised or drastically edited rather than an unfiltered, authentic version of the game. It's like the 90s all over again, except we don't have awesome people like Ted Woolsey to ease the pain.

I think it kinda sounds... funny. When I put it into context and imagine the dialogue, at least. I'm definitely gonna start out the Fire Emblem series for real with this game.
...after I beat Cockfighting Society Super Mystery Dungeon, of course.

How bad are we talking on the spoilers? Character development spoilers, storyline spoilers? Minor or major?

I'd like to look into the issue but I'm trying to stay as far away from potential story spoilers as possible.

It's a Support, not relevant to the story as far as I know but still

I like my Fire Emblem revelations to be fresh and unmolested by the haters and the spoilers

I don't see how this is news, I mean we've all known since forever geymin jurnolism has no idea what it's talking about. And isn't real journalism. And that the people who make it don't play games. Localization censorship fearmongering based on this event is not news either since we've had fearmongering and stereotypical-tumblrite shitflinging for every single piece of news about this game. Like when they screamed incest when there's no blood relation between Kamui and his siblings and the siblings themselves can't S rank their actual blood related siblings. Or when they screamed bloody murder that they dare make "their" representation a flawed human being (Zero) when a good half of them are better represented by Eponine (read up on her if you're wondering how she represents them SPOILER ALERT she's a Boy's Love/Hardcore-Man-on-Man fanatic and that's her whole characterization). Oh and how having swimsuit costumes is sexist even though men get just as skimpy swimwear (moreso when you remember men don't wear tops).

Oh boy, a shitstorm.

Don't worry the game still has the worst armour designs I've ever seen and the otaku bait incest and pet-your-squad features! It's still garbage, just not garbage in new frontiers.
