Jurassic World was a fun watch, but it definitely made me go "what?" several times. Characters making extremely dumb decisions mostly. Still though, it's worth seeing. The dinosaur action was very enjoyable though, good job on making the raptors cool again.

Just watched Kingsman. I thought it was excellent.

My brother could not get over Samuel Jackson's lisp. He thought it was the funniest thing ever.

I saw Inside Out with some friends today. It was so cute and I loved it and I DIDN'T CRY SHUT UP YOU CAN'T PROVE IT

There were only a couple problems I noticed with the movie:

Why was Bing Bong stealing memories? Is it supposed to be implied those are memories of him????????

The explanation of Sadness' importance was a bit vague. I get why sadness is important in real life, but in the movie's context, it got one line of dialogue and then never brought up again.

The movie's concepts of thoughts, memories, reasoning, and emotion were unique, but a little oversimplified at times.

Would've liked to have seen a bit more of other people's emotions, but I can see how that would make it feel unfocused.

Maybe a little more focus on Riley would have been nice. The emotions are the main characters, but since their job is to make her react to things, we should see her reactions a little more often.

"Wow Marcato you said a couple problems and I see a whole bunch." WELLLLL, they're not huge problems. Mostly just things that could have been tweaked, in my opinion.

But yeah, go see it. The short at the beginning was super cute too and I can't believe they made me care about volcano love.

Saw Jurassic World today. That was fun.

I was kind of on and off liking it because the dinosaur action was cool while everything else was just kinda eh but then the end has a Velociraptor riding a T-Rex while they both fight a super mutant T-Rex and hot daisies that is the best bunch of words I have ever typed here.

Spiderman has been cast as Tom Holland.

What was wrong with the last Spiderman actor?

I mean, Tobey Maguire was Tobey Maguire, so that was a problem in and of itself, but Andrew Garfield wasn't terrible.

I think they don't want ASM to be associated with the MCU so having the same actor would be bad.

It's a different Spider-Man, like X-Men's Peter Maximoff and the Avengers' Pietro Maximoff are different people.

This is also the second hard reboot to the Spider Man movie franchise in recent memory. Also, the second time it was rebooted while plans for a Sinister Six movie were in the works.

Finally went to go see Dinosaur Park 2: Park Harder. Lot of problems, but overall I enjoyed it.

The whole clash of the titans finale was very blatant fanservice, but I am okay being serviced like that. And I liked the REALITY ENSUES moment when the raptors go off script.

I honestly didn't like Jurassic World that much

Then again the only Jurassic park movie I liked was the first one. I'm not huge on monster movies to begin with.

It is annoying how the film formula can't seem to move past the thing where everything only goes to shit because people make impossibly stupid decisions.

1) Vicious prehistoric monsters do not make for useful military applications, seriously what the fuck were you thinking.

2) Are you telling me there wasn't a single goddamn person on the entire island more qualified to fly that helicopter?

3) It might have ended up working, but there were SO MANY WAYS that releasing the T. rex could have gone horribly wrong. I know the idea was that with the Indominus loose things couldn't get worse but STILL.

4) How hard would it be to positively confirm that Frankenstein's dinosaur is actually loose before ENTERING ITS HOME?

Despite all of the above, I loved it, which just goes to show that whenever dinosaurs are involved, I will suffer plot holes large enough to drive a planet through. More annoying, however, were the blatant "HERE'S WHERE THE 3-D BECOMES RELEVANT" scenes.

I've also heard people bitching about the product placement, but I'm willing to chalk that up to meta-satire. That is, the park is simply full of corporate logos because the park is sponsored, not the film. I don't have a solid source to cite, but I read that most of the product placement was done without official funding.

I also read that the sponsors were scripted in and contacted later. I mean, you go to ANY theme park in the real world and they have sponsors. I don't understand the people who complain about product placement in movies. Wow, it emulates reality and this upsets you? You drink Coke and eat McDonalds. If you find that jarring in films, imagine how horrendously jarring and obvious it would be to see the characters drink Wow Cola while they eat their Tribun Mac Attack Super Burger from Mac King (everyone's favorite fast food restaurant, of course).

Real life has real products. Movies have real products. Why does this bother people? I can understand if the character suddenly looks into the camera and says "Drink Jack Daniels - it's my preferred way to unwind after a long day of dino wrangling!" before suddenly going back to attempting to seduce the park director. But no movie does that, because it would be suicide.
