I'd like to play as a Pegasus Knight. Or the phoenix archer when I play Hoshido (I'm still leaning towards Nohr for my first playthrough.)

As for shipping, I haven't actually been following the characters enough to have a favorite. The only characters I really know are the sibling characters which are a whole can of worms anyway.

I want to marry Hana but I also want to play Femavatar, and it's Nintendo, so I doubt gay face touching will be an option.

Okay so I don't want to spoil anything I got from Japan Time so how about some things that aren't spoilery in any way?

First, Marcato, A+ support rankings exist for some same sex people now. It's like S support kinda I guess. The only one in particular I remember hearing about was Zero/Odin.
The werewolf guy is named Flannel and he looks like he was designed to grab as many female players as possible into playing if you catch my drift.
The butler and maid both join you rather than just one or the other based on your gender, though the other comes later on.

And I'm not putting anything else here even in spoiler tags cause you're gonna read'em even if you don't want spoilers. Go to the usual place for actual spoilers if you want those.

The first two kids are the avatar's kids. As with the last game, the male gets a daughter and the female gets a son

All I heard on Nyx was all her facerubbing lines. Speaking of which (and more), there's no fucking way this game is getting released uncensored or untouched. It would explain the nine months of localization we're gonna be waiting through.

I wouldn't be surpised if you're right, but you've gotta remember that FE games aren't exactly light on text. They might also still have to do recording for the English voice acting too.

On a different note, I'm a little disappointed that your avatar's gender is determined by what version you buy.

Uhh, are you sure? I can't find a single source confirming that.

Also apparently there is same-sex marriage, but only one character in each version can do that. That's kind of lame, but I guess it's improvement.

It's not, version only determines which gender is on the box art. Hoshido streamer got to choose gender.

One version has a lesbian option and the other a homosexual one. The DLC with both paths has both.

Welp I guess I misread that one article then. But still, limiting the gay choice by version also seems a bit silly.

Anyways I think I'm going to spring for Hoshido when it comes out here even though I like Nohr's more classic playstyle better. None of the Nohr characters are really grabbing me honestly.

I also found this on tumblr and found it amusing. I'm linking it since some might consider it spoilers; I think it's got a few child character portraits in it.

Honestly that just illustrates one of my biggest grievances with Fire Emblem nowadays. The designers have shown that they are capable of avoiding giving every character the same face, but here they are making characters look practically identical to already existing fire emblem characters.

Plus, they're doing a thing with children again? Why?

I feel like the dev team is just re-using the story elements from Awakening with absolutely no effort put into changing it around. I get that Fire Emblem has always been about JRPGs and wars, but at least the previous games have had elements that were unique from other FE games. Sacred Stones had different elements from Path of Radiance and so on.


I really don't feel like playing a recycled version of Awakening with more character shipping spawn.
