Montages of some possible class options for both games. Those looking to avoid spoilers may not want to watch as it includes some promoted classes as well.

Of note is that they actually did make a flying archer class, albeit mounted on some sort of phoenix creature rather than a pegasus or wyvern.

Marriages are still a thing, Children are still a thing... Why? I know Awakening did well but come on, give us something a little different from the last game.

I don't mind because I loved having an invincible monster mage daughter.

Now this marriage and children mechanic has the risk of becoming a staple in the series, cause that's exactly what we need, more Awakening to attract the actual weeaboos to waifus.
Plus children were absolutely broken along with Pair Up, hope they nerf and hopefully balance both children mechanic and Kamui.

OK, I seriously doubt that Awakening was popular because it was "weeaboo bait" or whatever. Even without the greater emphasis on support and the broken kids, it was still a fantastic game. Not to mention absolutely gorgeous to look at. And yes, it was easier because you can grind and turn permadeath off, so what? Those are just options.

Although I have made it no secret that I am a bit of a shipper, so I may be slightly biased...?

Also I am beyond disappointed that Kazahana's English name is Hana. Very creative.

Marriage is 100% eugenics but triggered by Support

Support conversations have always been in Fire Emblem
Or at least since the GBA games, fuck if I know what went down in the older games

And at the end of the games, quite a few S-Rank Supports ended in marriage as a pop flyin' ending
Awakening just took it beyond the pop flyin' ending
Ergo shipping nonsense has been in Fire Emblem for quite some time

The only real problem with the children besides being broken as sin was the bullshit time shenanigans that got them there in the first place

So I fail to see what is so wrong with the marriage mechanics

Man, lots of stuff I want to touch on.

Hoshido classes look very japanese, so no surprise there. Would I be correct in saying the flying archer is ironic, or is that not using 'ironic' correctly? I wish they had made that phoenix thing a color other than boring old white.

Nohr's classes look like the same stuff we're used to, also not surprising. The one exception being that one beast/werewolf like laguz thing. He looks kinda neat. Sad to see the knights still have that ridiculous looking shoulder amor/collar comination instead of a proper helmet. Also, pop flyin' to see a female beserker, sad to see she's got the same generic animu girl body type as everyone else. Wouldn't it make more sense for a lady beserker to be big and badass? Hell, some variation in female body types period would be nice.
Is reclassing still gonna be a thing? Because if so, it doesn't feel like you'll be able to switch to another country's classes, which I'm actually kinda disappointed with. I want to make Ryoma a wyvern rider so I can make stupid "CHANGE GETTER DRAGON!" jokes, damnit.

Also, I think the biggest thing I have against marriage and kids is how it makes half of your cast optional instead of unlocked regularly as the plot progresses. I was disappointed with having only one relatively boring archer compared to all of my other stellar starter units cause I didn't want to force Tharja's abusive booty on anyone.

I read somewhere that they changed Kamui to Corn because Kamui was apparently hard to pronounce. :/

Hoshido does have soliders which if any can stand up to nephenees legend would be amazing to play again, as well as that pupptetmaster class which looks dope as all get out.

What's so broken about marriage is just the min/maxing with children and turning one unit into an unstoppable wall of death by marrying 2nd gen children and getting Morgan to be a god.
I just hope there's nothing like that in the next one or maybe no marrying 2nd gen, because if I remember correctly, Fire Emblem was about cooperation and not swordmaster Morgan with Galeforce and Lethality does everything.

The videos with the classes for both sides have been translated with minimal mistakes (use annotations for even less). Curses and dark magic are just the words used by both sides for the same thing, magic, like katana and sword or lance and naginata, etc though I won't rule out the possibility of dark magic being usable. Warriors/bandits are gone it seems and fighters go berserker instead now. Maybe they wouldn't have changed it if bows didn't suck so bad before.
Also half the hoshido things are just rebranded old units: samurai/myrmidon, monk/priest, priestess/cleric, archer/archer... wait...

So, minmaxing children aside, who would you make your character marry?

I'd pick Nyx.

So far I'm thinking Camilla or Pieri since I'm siding with Nohr. Leaning towards Pieri unless japan time changes my mind.

Another question: since each character can only get one other base class to second seal into, and Kamui gets to choose his (or so I heard), what class will you choose? Not taking skills into account I'd either choose Fighter, Wyvern Rider, or Oni.
