I mean the concept of healing isn't one that makes sense. It's not a thing that really exists in real life. If you want to heal a wound you go lie down for a week or two. So any real-life actions that games attach to it are going to seem very off.

Though my personal favorite method of healing so far is Final Fantasy 15. The five perfect-haired frat boys dressed in all-black designer clothes that make up your road trip crew heal each-other from gunshots and electrocution by patting each-other on the shoulder and saying things like "C'mon, up and at 'em" or "Don't start lying down on me now, man." You bodaciously bro each-other back to health.

It really is hard to remove blood from clothes, and then I added Nowi and it covered up all of my hard work,

You have no idea. Most of the time when I'm left standing after a close-range fight like that, I stand there waiting to respawn... until I realize I'm not dead. Then some .52 Gal user spots me standing there idle and splats me. Live by the .52, die by the .52, I guess.
