The first server was most definitely funtimes, it'd be great to have something like that again. :'> I've been wanting to play on a server for a while, but it's always more fun with friends than it is with random strangers.

I know all the servers I played on are dead or all the people i talked with are gone.
Im more of building person, so starting a new game doesnt interest me, and ive made a 500x500 seafood restaurant on top of a guardian farm and expansive dockworks area, so im sort of burnt out on my single player

The thing I love about playing on servers with friends is that everyone sorta helps each other out, so everyone's able to get resources and things a lot faster. As someone who's been playing Minecraft on and off for nearly 5 years now, I've gotten pretty impatient when it comes to playing Singleplayer mode. I'll try to get and build things legit at first, but sooner or later I just can't be bothered because I've been through the routine so many times so I just end up enabling cheats and switching to creative mode to give myself things. I've found that when I play on a server with friends, I feel more motivated to do things properly, and also feel more motivated to work on builds and stuff because I love seeing what the others are making and showing them what I'm working on.

SHowing off your builds is the reason I really only play multiplayer. I'll piss around in singleplayer when there is an update until I have everything learned, then back to online. Gotta make those mansions and sky palaces and 17th century Chinese warships and skyscrapers and opium dens and scale replicas of your childhood home (no relation to the previous item).

I'm game for a vanilla MC server.

I like making things based around farms, hence the mammoth seafood restaurant above a guardian farm.
The lowest level at the bottom of the sea is redstone and storage area for all my farms.
Next level up is just below water level and contains the guardian farm surrounded by melon, pumpkin, wheat, sugarcane, and cocoa farms.
The first sea level floor is mostly seating and an open dance floor with glass to view the guardian farm, and in the first level of the kitchen in the back is a villager breeding area.
The second level is a convention area for large parties and has a few private rooms, and in the second level of the kitchen is the iron golem farm.
The third level is an open ornate area that has places prepared for animal farms (then I realized how noisy they were going to be and moved them down to the guardian farm level) so while it looks really nice has no function atm.

Ive elimanated almost an entire mesa biome to make it

If I hosted a server what kind should I host?

I can do FTB, ATL or vanilla.

He means vanilla, and I'm fine with Vanilla as long as you try that end of time idea, I really want to see a server like the old one again, that was fun stuff.

Doing something like that would take a lot of time on my end, I would also need to work on bukkit plugins and settings.

That was something I wanted to work on when the minecraft mod API came out, but Mojang keeps saying ITS HAPPENING, ITS NOT HAPPENING, ITS HAPPENING. For the last like 5 fucking years.

Even if I did work on my idea, it feels like it would never compete with things like ATL launcer and FTB, why play on a vanilla bukkit server when you have those options?

I vote vanilla because it means we can get more people to play! unless suddenly everyone is capable of running Resonant Rise, then that gets my vote.

I can enjoy vanilla with the right set of plugins. (Lockette being prime on the list)
I might also try hosting a server myself, since I've got a pretty beefy PC it SHOULD be able to handle multiworlds and the people on them.
