I think you may need to get a better hang of the form of trees. Thick trunks or branches stretch out and get thinner as they go on while it stayed mostly thick for the main tree. Tree branches can also go out pretty far out from the base of the tree. There may also need to be more contrast in light and shadow, but hey, you're on your way! Just keep workin' at it!

Thanks. Yeah, the trees ARE a bit skewy. That might be explained because I used Minecraft as a reference and everything is very blocky and not of accurate shape and sizes. I did try to fix it a bit but I see that I could have done better.

It'd definitely be better to use real photos of whatever your subject is as well to help accuracy. Things like minecraft can help with perspective and setup, but I think you'll need some photos to look at too to get the actual forms down right.

I'm drawing a Square Mom for another friend's birthday. I need to tweak some of the lines around the shoulder pads and such but other than that I'm ready to get down to coloring.

What do you guys think?
