Trying to level up some people for the children before I get the children. Put Ricken and Miriel together for dat magic. Of course I didn't think about class skills and honestly I don't like their reclasses and ugh. It's cool you can make all these units different, but ugh.

New Fire Emblem will have two different paths to take.
Your created avatar is the sole protagonist, born in one country and raised in another.

You must choose to fight alongside your new family in the peace-loving country you were raised in (normal gameplay), or choose to reform your darker birth country by force (higher difficulty and different objectives).

Go look up the names of the countries, I'm just the messenger, I wasn't paying attention

Oh, also the SMT crossover is not dead, it's coming soon

Apparently, the games will be released as two separate versions, one version dealing with the easier campaign and the other dealing with the harder campaign.

Good job, Ninty. You've finally found a way to make multiple games follow the pokemon formula.

It hasn't been 100% confirmed if the Western release will be two separate games as well (at least from what I've read on a couple of sites). I'm just going to assume it will. Either way I don't really care. I love fire emblem and if this means more game/story then I'll take it.

Western version will be one single version release and a second version as DLC.

You got them backwards; you were born in the peaceful country (Hoshido) and raised in the darker, glory-seeking country (Nohr). Probably because the reverse would be harder to justify, as who would side with the violent country just because you were born there? Having your "family" there makes it more difficult to decide between the two.

But the idea of reforming a country from the inside sounds super intriguing. If I can only get one game I'd probably get Nohr just because I'd like to see how different it can be.

People are getting rustled at the two versions being physically separate games that you have to pay for individually. I heard one person describe it with, "Imagine if you had to buy two copies of Mass Effect in order to switch between Paragon/Renegade on a different playthough."

While I agree that, until we have more information on what the choices actually represent and how the games really differ, this seems like a straight-up cheddar grab, I'm still cautiously optimistic that it's probably not as bad as everyone thinks. It could be that the games really are so radically different that they warrant separate releases. Instead of Cockfighting Society Red and Blue, you get something like Red and Diamond. Separate worlds entirely, entirely different campaign and characters, etc, but same gameplay and basic beginning levels.

Of course, in the end it's still a cheddar grab since almost every FE fan is going to get both anyway. At least they'll give us a discount.

..Did you pay attention during the Direct?
Or check the link I posted?

Same world.
Same time period.
Same characters.
You're bodaciously just choosing one side over another.
If you want to play again choosing a different side, you have to pay for it in DLC.

Yes, I understand all of it.

What I mean is that they emphasized that Nohr is going to be very different from traditional FE games. If it's different enough it could be along the lines of what I said. The setting is the same but the goals, and possibly the methods, are different.

I also said that it probably won't be, and that we won't know for sure until the specifics of the differences are made clear.

I was just trying to make a point that it isn't as cut-and-dry as "Buy the exact same game a second time as DLC."

maybe you can use wifi and trade team members from the other version so you can get a growlithe from Hoshido version since they're normally unobtainable in Nohr version

I don't care which version is which so long as I have the cute perky Myrmidon girl in my army.
