I've played Rekka no Ken, but didn't finish it. Got to Eliwood's story.

Back to Awakening, am I """""supposed""""" to promote my units once they get their second skill or wait until they reach Lv. 20?

Trust me, the cute together doesn't end, even in classic. Did that with tons of my relationships. Chrom and the Avatar+Chrom's Daughters(Married Sully) were good enough to carry the team mostly well the rest of them ranged from semi-useful to dead weight. Actually had problems with Chrom being too good. I'd put him in a one wide hallway with the avatar to fight people and get them bonuses, and they would kill everybody with their double attacks+bonus attack+ high crit chance. Chrom actually died because he took 2/3 damage each hit and killed over 40 enemies in one enemy turn.

I am having way too much fun shipping these characters.

So far I've S-Ranked Chrom x Sumia, Lissa x Vaike, Miriel x Kellam, and Stahl x Sully.

A-Ranks are my avatar x Cordelia and Maribelle x Gaius. ohshitherewego.jpg

Other couples in the works are Frederick x Panne, Ricken x Nowi, and Tharja x Gregor.

Oh, and I'm about to go fight Gangrel or whatever.

Lucina joined my party. I've seen the scene where she reveals herself to be Chrom's future daughter before, but it still gets me teary every daisies time. Fuck you, game, getting my emotions like this.

Also I only need to marry Cherche to Lon'qu and then I can go get all the future kids. In the meantime, I'm working on getting everybody up to Lv. 20 so I can promote them.

Meanwhile, I'm replaying Blazing Sword's Hector Mode again.

I'm bodaciously on the 7th mission there and Hector is already level 20. OH BOY, NOW I HAVE TO WAIT 10 CHAPTERS FOR THE GODLY PERFECT HECTOR TO PROMOTE.
Then again, that's Hector for you...

Promoted all my units and now I'm working on getting the kids. I got kind of careless and let myself die trying to finish Owain's paralogue, but even then I only died because one unit got a crit and that left me in range for the boss to kill me with 100% accuracy.

Holy fucking shit, Cynthia's paralogue is hard. Thank god Donnel as a Warrior is ungodly strong and Kellam as a General can't be touched.

I think I'm about halfway done collecting the kiddos. So far I've got Owain, Morgan, Cynthia, Laurent, and Kjelle.

Ah Kellam. Knight's are always my favorite units. G-guy in Sacred Stones, Kellam in this. They're easier to level up then others because they have good defense and attack so are less likely to die, and good defense and strength is always relevant. Only when I got Sully's daughter with Chrom as father did I switch out.

Good god Yarne's paralogue rustled me off. Not because my units kept dying, but because it takes SO LONG to get through with every unit on screen that restarting is such a chore.

so new fire emblem is announced, looking cool. It's a lot more Japanese looking this time around so I'm sure the story will be full of HONOR and JUSTICE

Looks like Awakening was enough to save the series, glad to see that, I never played Fire Emblem, but a lot of people tell me to get Awakening.

Awakening did a good job of having enough good Fire Emblem mechanics to please the die hard fans while having good art, characters, and relative ease of entry to draw in new people.

Maybe this game is set in Chon'sin? The not-Japan that Lon'qu, Say'ri, and whatever Say'ri's brother's name was were from? That would A) be radical and B) allow them to maaaaaybe make some connection to the previous game, at least tenuously.

Definitely a myrmidon type character, Pegasus knight, pretty standard stuff. Maybe a dancer. I'm wondering if that Stone monster would be on your side, I don't know if the game's had units like that be on your side, but from how it was revealed I would assume so. I wonder if any of them was the main lord in the story. And of course whether they'll have a unit similar to the Avatar from the last game.

Here's a tumblr post analyzing some of the things in the trailer.

from what it looks like magic may be used with spell cards instead of magic tomes to keep with the Japanese themes and that sounds really awesome
