Honestly I figured it out instantly because I was super excited to see what the Giant Trees did. Plus they're the most withered thing in the game and the Ashen Mist Heart description says you can look into the memories of the withered.

So you know those weird hollow... abomination... zombie... things with weird abdomens that make them look like they have one giant testicle?
Did you know that if you kill them with a riposte after a parry, they'll still be breathing? I'm not sure if it's only a riposte after a parry, but I've tried killing them in other ways and I wasn't able to see them breathing at any other point. I'm also not sure if this applies to all ripostes, I did it with the black knight halberd.
It's pretty creepy and I don't think I've seen this kind of thing with any other enemy. It wasn't a physics glitch either, they're quite clearly just lying there, breathing.

They're Undead, they bodaciously can't die. All you're doing is knocking them down for a while, which is why they're back after you rest at a bonfire.

Isn't it that an undead can die, they just come back to life later?

Also make sure to Plunging attack it using the ladder on the right side of the doorway you enter from. Does almost half its health bar.

you enter the boss fog, turn right, and there's a ladder right next to the door, go up the ladder, kill the archers, go back down, lure taurus over, climb ladder, plunge attack

and the gold pine resin isn't near a black knight either, it's above him a bit, but he won't aggro unless you get way closer

Nah, that's a different part of the map. What Vax is talking about is that tower you enter the boss area through, just climb straight up, take care of the two guys and plunge down on the boss.

Cheesing him out with the plunging attack is weak sauce though. Have you tried your hand at Havel yet?

I still have trouble with Havel sometimes if I face him too early. I usually don't even bother at all though. I mainly only use light armors so I don't really need the extra equip load.

Once I went to fight Havel only to have him jump through the floor and kill me before I even opened the door. It was probably the funniest thing that ever happened to me in any Souls game.

has anyone been doin the sir alonne fight and is around soul memory of 3,259,033? ive been trying and trying to get his armor but so far ive only gotten 3 gauntlets and 1 leggings.
