A Pro 2 should do you well, then. Spec-wise, it's still fairly current. Identical to the Pro 3, I believe, but with a smaller screen and a slightly nicer pen. Only real downside is that the kickstand on pre-3 models is kind of clumsy.

If you don't need it until summer, the Surface Pro 4 is expected to be out by then, so the Pro 2 will probably be even cheaper to boot. Expect it to hit the same price point the Pro 1 is at now, if not less.

Sadly, I don't want a monitor, I just want a new television, I prefer my PS3 for when I want to lay down and relax while playing a game, not like...sitting down in a chair, we're talking bed standards here. If you know a decent, cheap TV that'll get the job done, please tell me.

Alright, that's really good to hear, and I should be able to handle the inferior kickstand thing. Thanks for the help!

Any size preference, or budget?

Cheapest 1080p TV I've found is $160, but I haven't done any hardcore sleuthing. You could go refurbished to find something cheaper, but that could carry risks.

There isn't much advice to give on TVs, really. Just look for the resolution you want.

You know the only real difference between a tv and a monitor is the capacity to receive TV signal right?

I don't want a tiny screen to try and squint my eyes at, I got a huge TV but KH2.5 doesn't support it, so I have to cut off the edges, I want the TV to be a decent size so I can lay down, relax, and watch all the mayhem unfold. If it's a monitor, like my Acer, I won't see the action really well.

I already found a nice TV I think will do anyways.

Wow, I didn't realize you could get such a large screen without hitting, like, $500. I haven't shopped for TVs in so long.

You can buy huge monitors too :P. The real difference is it's hard to find monitors with low pixel density like big TVs have, so a huge monitor is probably outside of your price range.

ok kids

shazza built herself a new computer but we have a little issue

my mobo has 4 ram slots and i was given two 8gb ram (total of 16.) we have tested both sticks seperately and together, and i am only seeing 8 gigs of ram total in bios. when we test each one on its own it shows 4gb of ram per stick totaling to 8, when it should be 16. help? just bad ram (it's about a year old but was never used,) or something else?

Are you sure the package doesn't say 8gb (kit of 2)? Because that means it's 8gb spread across two sticks for 4gb per stick. That's the only explanation I could think of.

Just to be sure, you're running a 64-bit version of Windows, right? You shouldn't even get more than 4GB RAM total then, but that's the first thing I thought of. I'm assuming you've tried all RAM slots and the sticks show up as 4GB in each one? What mobo are you using?

You could be putting them into the wrong slots. Some (all?) motherboards require you to prioritize specifics slots in order to use both sticks of ram.
Otherwise it could be that the second slot you're trying is shot, but I don't think that's a very common defect.

I'd check that too but neither of those would normally cause the other stick to show up as 4GB instead of 8GB.
