So if we're going to vote, it should be either /u or Cori?

Well, no one has contested Cori's claim to the role so I'm willing to believe she is actually the Ex-Traitor. This means that anyone who shows up as guilty to the First Mate is incredibly likely to be a Traitor. Do Mutineers show up as guilty? I assume so.

Obviously, my self-preservation tells me to prompt you to vote for /u, but I know my role within the crew wouldn't be missed if I was killed off either.

That's actually part of the reason I requested to be captain and drew attention to myself yesterday.

But as of right now I can assure everyone that I have this ship and my crew's best interests at heart.

Hm, no, you know what? I doubt Cori would be a traitor. It doesn't make sense for a traitor to take such a public role; they'd certainly be investigated sooner rather than later. It's possible that She's the Spy (shows up innocent), I guess? But then so could Marcato, since he tried to run as Captain. Barabba too.

But that gives us three people, if we connect running for Captain with suspicion. Plusd, I would guess that Cori is clear, since she claimed a specific role. Even if she's the spy, we'd be able to tell if she isn't the ex-Marine.

This post kind of went a lot of directions while I was writing it, so don't take it as advice. Just thinking out loud. I doubt Marcato is guilty, he's played before and would know not to grab the attention if he were a Traitor. Barabba could well just make a stupid mistake, given his posting style, but again this isn't a concrete lead at all.

Who knows.

(nothing important to add with this post, but fuckin hell did a lot of posts happen between hitting 'submit' and my internet unshitting itself. want to add that Cori's post makes sense, and I'd consider it another good reason to trust her. We can always wait to confirm her identity via the detective)

If Cori were investigated, she would show up as guilty if she really is the Traitor since that's the guilty-innocent role.

Also, Marcato didn't really try to run for captain, I just voted for him and then other people did. I guess Barabba could still be a plausible suspicion. Especially since he has been pretty quiet today so far.

Personally, I'd be looking at the people who have kept a low profile. A smart traitor would either stay in the background or say a few inane things to make them seem less suspicious. No doubt you've thought through this yerselves, but if an honest crewmember hangs, you may just find the crew short two people in the morning.

Sorry, I'm probably getting my names mixed up. I was saying that if Cori ran for captain as one of the three traitors, she'd be stupid unless she was the Spy, in which case she'd appear innocent. But since she's claimed to be the ex-marine, and being the Spy would only make her appear as a generic 'innocent,' we can easily find out whether or not she's lying about anything.
That's why I trust her - she's made it too easy to find out if she's hiding anything, so she probably has nothing to hide. Just point the detective at her in a night or two and we can be certain she's clean.

Oh. Oh fuck, I didn't bother looking at what the ex-marine does. I'm suspicious of Cori again. Disregard everything I've said, I'm an idiot.

Well, there's still the fact that no one has disputed her claim, so I still believe Cori is innocent.

I'm personally suspicious of /u and Barabba.

Yeah the ex-marine role is basically this game's version of a miller--which is why I was kind of surprised that it wasn't hidden from me when I got my role. Most of the time millers think they're just vanilla townies.

I'm afraid I don't have any more information at this time, other that what I've already said.

I'm kind of on the fence about Cori. Ex-Marine is risky to claim, but no one has disputed it and the Traitors must know it's risky, especially this early, when we're looking for anything to incriminate someone.

@Granny Benson: I'm not so sure about Barabba. I just added his name in as someone who we'd have to consider alongside Cori, before I realized the actual implications of the role she claimed. He's always had a tendency to be a loud presence, anyway - while he's certainly acting a bit oddly, I'd expect him in particular to act the same whether or not he's innocent.

((look at me, remembering to account for how quickly this thread's moving))

Yeah the fact that Barabba has been really quiet is surprising to me.
