Japanese official site confirms that once you get the Eon Ticket, you can share it with StreetPass.

Record-mixing nostalgia fills my mind. I hope other things that used to involve mixing records are confirmed to work with StreetPass, too.

Okay now the details are out there and now I'm feeling like it's a good concept but a bad idea.
The Eon Ticket will be given to a select few by serial code at Play! Pokemon events in the US (Y'know, that shit no one ever goes to unless they're die-hard), and then you just have to go out to the most populous areas and hope you get lucky and tag someone who has it. If not, you're shit out of luck.

Thank god for Powersaves.

Sometimes I think Nintendo needs to remember that not everywhere is Japan. People aren't as likely to cross paths and StreetPass in places where people live more spread apart. I can see many people not getting this ticket.

Did they say these details only applied to Japanese Eon Tickets, or everyone? Maybe they'll do a more direct distribution event down the road.

If you check my second post you'll see that I mentioned the U.S. Everywhere else is going to do exactly what Japan is doing but with different sources

In the U.S. you have a chance to get it at via serial code at a Play! Pokemon event, and in the UK they're making a huge deal out of a contest where you can be one of the people to get it via serial code and you even get to meet Masuda himself

"Congratulations, you won, now you don't have to be one of the jackasses who have to go out to the most populous cities you can get to with your budget and time and hope you get lucky. By the way, we're not forcing you to go out and give people the ticket, so feel free to sit back at home while no one else gets this event."

but like I said, there's always Powersaves, tee hee hee

Shit like that is why I don't give a fuck if I get a hacked legendary

How many actual, legitimate Arceuses do you think exist out there at this very moment
Gamefreak never even bothered to distribute the item that you could use to get it legitimately so the only way to have ever gotten one was to go to that one specific event in Japan

Next time you're in a city, walk around a university for a few minutes.

I brought my 3ds with me to college almost every day for two and a half years and I was lucky to get more than one unique streetpass per day. Let me just get in my car and drive an hour to a bigger city with a bigger college to get streetpasses.

I got one tag today at Wal-Mart. *confetti* I got around 13 or so when I was at the Atlanta airport a couple of months ago though.

Also, I finally pre-ordered Omega Ruby.

Count yourself lucky, I passed maybe ten people at my local tiny shitty con this year. I DID make it to an actual big convention on the other side of the state this year, five hours away, and I got hella streetpasses then. I also got over 100 streetpasses in one day when my family went to disneyland a couple years ago.

Places where it's expected to have lots of people like us (i.e. dirty nerds) you can obviously get a ton. There's no con close to where I live and even at our 25k students university I get a handful at most in a day. I blame the decentralized infrastructure. University buildings are scattered all over the city.

I can't even remember the last time I saw someone carrying a DS or 3DS around here. Maybe in the one super dense university city we have you'd get some hits occasionally but that's pretty much it. And we don't have much in the way of cons either.

I usually take my 3DS with me when I'm gonna be out and about for most of a day and I'm lucky to even get one hit, and when I do it's usually because I either went into or passed right by a GameStop.

Last time I got a good number of hits was when I went to the LoZ concert thing when it came to my city. (I never go to cons so I have no idea what sort of luck I'd have with that)

The only Pokemon-related gathering I've heard of in my area was a local weekly tourney held at a independently-owned vidya store/arcade, but that was cancelled since hardly anyone ever showed up.
