The Harry Potter fanfic is a stretch goal, the kickstarter is for the ESEX website, which is like the Onion for e-Sports.

Oh, alright. Still no interest though, I only watch dota esports for the quality of the game. Personally I find most "Pro Gamers" extremely arrogant and unlikable, with the scene itself trying way too hard to be taken seriously instead of just lettings things take a course and bloom into something unique.

Was also probably one of the few people that didn't like the Free to Play short film, because it really showed just how distant and unsociable some of the people who play this game professionally can be, and had a lot of really sad undertones. It made me wonder where these people will be in 10 years, and if they will have the skills needed to get by in the world once their reflexes start to fade and they do worse at games in general.

Well, it really depends on the person, it's not because they're good at videogames that they can't be good at anything else. Take a look at Stephano, he made 200k$ in 2 years and then went back to med school. What's more, it's not because someone is toxic in a game that they're unsociable in real life (although there's definitely a correlation), gaming under high pressure just seems to bring out the worst in people.

But yeah, for some of them I do think it's a concern, but even then I've seen quite a lot of people transitioning in a side role like caster, youtuber or streamer after they retire from progaming.
