Cori, when you say SJW, do you think feminist? There are many people who call themselves feminists but do not actually support what feminism is about, and get called out on it, unsuccessfully in most cases. That is, the warnings of the real feminist that these people's views are toxic are drowned out by the non-feminist. In this case I indict the majority of the group of people commonly referred to as SJWs as being non-feminist.

Now, I suppose if I had any links to recent arguments or anything like that I could claim why I think certain SJWs are not promoting feminism or the fair treatment of any people in fact, but I haven't kept up with anything like this recently so I have no threads, no twitter conversations, nothing but what I remember of previous articles of this sort. But, why do you think SJWs are in the right here, in the way they have been involved with recent Game Gabbin' News events or otherwise? Why do you believe they are in support of what they claim they are?

What I think is that SJW is being used as an overly-broad term to lump everyone, extremists and humanitarians and feminists alike, into one group for people to harp on. And I'm not okay with that. I'm not okay with feminists being generalized with the people who think 'trans-ethnics' and 'fictionkin' are legitimate and oppressed minorities.

My original post was intended to be sarcastic, because generalizing someone with a feminist viewpoint (Jimquisition) with the extremist SJWs is something that MRAs do all the time and it's very exasperating.

I've never heard of Jimquisition before today so I can't say whether or not he is or is not anything. When I was typing the post I thought it was more of a general "I support SJWs yes those kinds you're thinking of right now" post you made, but it wasn't.

I know a great passage once that really made me think. I think it was in Frankenstein by all things. Frankensteins monster had hidden in a house. You knowa ll in all probably not a good story, but the point is, we should all be like that blind man ^^ ....

I'm angry about recent events too, but at the same time I'm confused by people who think that the site has changed or will change overnight into some sanitized, oversensitive version of itself.



This is true. For a while now everyone's been trying to make their own "League killer" or at the very least get their own slice of the MOBA pie. Alongside this there were high-profile MMO failures (TORtanic, Original FFXIV, TESO not being a huge revolution) that just screamed that MMOs aren't as financially viable as people originally thought.

The only example I can think of regarding a MOBA failing is Super Monday Night Combat, thanks to developer incompetence and greed. More are sure to follow.

Main reason WoW was successful is that people loved Warcraft. After that the massive playerbase just attracted more people. MMOs could be good, but it's impossible for anyone to get away from just copying WoW and hoping for its success.
