Now, to be fair, most of the time even if they were on the right side, the Asterisk Bearers were all kind of assholes doing horrible things. Holly wanted to torture Agnes when they captured her. Profiteur, DeRosa, and Qada are all traitors out for personal gain even if they weren't assholes. And finally a good half of the others are so emotionally damaged they don't want to explain anything.

But Praline's the one asterisk bearer that you DON'T kill. You can even see her performing in Grandship at night.

And yeah, while this game was really bad at having the Eternians explain their reasoning, Alternis at least TRIED in chapter 5. Too bad he had a short time limit.

Chapter 7 and 8 made up for the repetativeness of chapters 5 and 6 though. "I GAVE HIM MY DIGITS, JUST TO SEE HIM FIDGET!"

I should probably finish this game before I get spoiled on something big. I got up to the part where you meet the tailor version of Master Roshi before I put it down because other games that I wanted to play more were coming out.

As soon as I get done with Tales of Xillia 2, I really need to see about squeezing in a full playthrough of Bravely Default before Tales of Hearts comes out in November.

Still looking forward to Second, though. After all, it's not like they'll turn the game into Groundhog Day again, right?...right??

That said, Edea is also quite bad at explaining why exactly she joins the vestal. A quick "your subordinates are full of rapists, arsonists and blind torturers for no apparent reason" would clear things up. Well, life father, like daughter.

I always thought she was pretty good about it, the whole "you're starting wars and making peoples lives worse" line should have at least caught her fathers attention I think.

That's generic stuff. She never outright states "one of your subordinates tried to date rape me", or anything to that effect.
