Yeah, she was supposed to be Link's younger sister.

But the art itself proves the concept of Femlink would still be awesome.

Why can't there be more girls in this game?

So far there are nine female characters (including nonplayable) and seven male characters. That's a good spread but I'm hoping for more characters, especially some more women

double post call the cops

my brother and I bought Skyward Sword and I find it really weird that Link doesn't straight up stab Groose while he's boasting about stealing his Big Bird

Groose ends up helping you later in the game, so...

Don't stab Groose or you'll wind up in a noose.

Apparently Cia and her two sidekicks, and also her henchmen aren't playable. The only playable villains are Ganondorf, Ghirahim and Zant, and they only got in because Tecmo Koei noticed they were popular.

So that's kind of weird. Cia seemed pretty popular even if it was just because of her 'sexy plague doctor' thing that she had going on.

Vaati is popular, why didn't he get in?

Oh wait it's because Nintendo doesn't remember Minish Cap and Four Swords exists HAHAHA okay okay I'm calm now.

Maybe Nintendo doesn't own the rights to original characters from Minish Cap and the Oracles, since those games were made by other studios.

They collaborated with Capcom, yeah, but I'm pretty sure that means Nintendo kept the rights to pretty much everything? It's not like they told capcom "here, have our intellectual property, go nuts".

I don't know. Maybe it was like they did with the CDi games; they gave them a few characters and elements to use and told them to come up with their own stuff as needed. If I'm not mistaken, nothing introduced in the Oracles or Minish Cap, be it characters, locations or mechanics, is ever referenced in any later game made by Nintendo themselves (though continuity was never much of a concern). I think the Triforce was only mentionned obliquely in MC? (They talk about the Force and a Holy Light but never describe it or use the name, like they really wanted us to know it's the Triforce but couldn't use the word).
Just like they never did anything with characters introduced in Super Mario RPG despite milking everything from other retro Mario games.

I was about to point out that there were mentions of Holodrum and Labrynna in Minish Cap, but then I realized that's just Capcom referencing their own work, so...

But still, people from Nintendo worked on those games. At least I know that Koji Kondo worked on the Oracle games, since he's listed in the credits under Sound Design. Still, it seems like those games have been completely forgotten by Nintendo. There haven't been any mentions of them that I can think of in any games since (though they were still mentioned in Hyrule Historia, in case anyone cares), and A Link Between Worlds massively retconned the Oracle games (though even if Nintendo remembered that those games exist, I doubt they'd care).

I think that SMRPG is different in that Square apparently actually owns the assets of it (examples include new characters like Geno, Smithy etc.) and Nintendo clearly has no intention of taking them (tfw no Geno for Smash), whereas Nintendo and the Zelda team still own assets (example Vaati) from the Oracles games, Four Swords and Minish Cap (as proven by the entire existence of Four Swords Adventures, which was for some reason not made by Capcom). Then again, the "assets" from those games may have been pitched by Nintendo in the first place, which would make the deal with Philips a more accurate comparison.

What?

The intro of A Link Between Worlds says that at the end of A Link to the Past, Ganon was not killed, he was "sealed away in darkness." Not only does this retcon the ending of ALttP, where Ganon clearly died, it also completely goes against the plot of the Oracle games. The Oracle games, according to the official timeline, take place between A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening, and we've known for years that Link's Awakening features the same Link seen in A Link to the Past, so the Oracle games take place a relatively short amount of time after A Link to the Past. Their plot completely focuses around a convoluted ritual being carried out by Twinrova to resurrect Ganon. They are not vague about Ganon's condition at all; they make it perfectly clear that he is dead and not just "sealed away." The moronic statement in ALBW's intro can't even apply to the Oracle games, because Ganon is obliterated at the end of their story. Even if you were to change the events of the Oracle games and make it so that Twinrova was trying to free Ganon instead of resurrect him, this is still a completely unnecessary instance of retroactive continuity and displays the utter incompetence and carelessness of these brainless "writers," since they easily could have just said that he was killed. And no, you can't even say that "sealed away in darkness" was another way of saying "killed," because that generic evil clown Yuga used the power of the sages' descendants to free Ganon from a seal, not resurrect him.

I'm trying to think of unique things that can be used from the Capcom games that can be integrated into Hyrule Warriors and honestly it isn't much

Rod of Seasons
Harp of Ages (thought Sheik stole that spotlight)
uhhh... the Tokay and Subrosians?
Kinstones
Bird Hat

that's all I can think of honestly
