That wasn't necessarily the kind of fanservice I was exactly referring to. I was kinda thinking making everything super awesome so the whole world fangasms or something along those lines. Creepy fanservice is kinda up to the producers.

And if I had a WiiU I would still buy the game because the Dynasty Warriors series interested me anyway, but I never saw much other than 10 minutes of a cousin playing it. Being a Zelda based spinoff makes it more my territory. I really hope Team Ninja and Omega Force make it worth it if I somehow do manage to buy it. From what I've seen it looks fun to play. Smashing a bunch of enemies with cool animations just seems like the best videogame stress reliever.

speaking of fanservice a friend transcribed the hyrule warriors direct to me and the only thing that got my attention was 'link's awakening bowwow is a weapon skin'

the entire game seems to be worshipping the holy trinity of OoT/TP/SS with anything from other games being an afterthought. i really wanted to see what kind of thing they could dig up and surprise us with, and they didn't really have anything. then again i'm not a huge zelda fan and i really love zelda II so

Yeah it is really disappointing that a lot of other zelda games are falling to the wayside. I'm especially sad to see no mention of Minish Cap anywhere since that was my first Zelda game (and I want vaati to be playable dammit), but the lack of anything substantial from majora's mask--that stupid moon attack doesn't count--is VERY surprising.

Majora's Mask is the best. I hope it gets remade soon.

The problem with transitioning stuff from the cel shaded Zeldas is probably a factor of graphical integrity. A character from the cel shaded games such as Vaati, Tetra, etc would have to look VASTLY different from what they look like in their home games. I think Nintendo or Koei might be afraid to make drastic changes to how an iconic character looks in order to put them in hyrule warriors. The most they can without drastic alterations may be small things like the Wind Waker in Zelda's arsenal and Lana utilizing the Deku Leaf in her Spear style.

As for Majora's Mask, I am hoping to see more from that game. Maybe make Deku Link playable, since we already have a Goron and Zora representative. I'm hoping for a Kokiri representative, since we already have a decent chunk of the "Seven Sages" represented in the game (I think in the nintendo direct one of the commentators called Lana a "Sorceress of Light" so she may be the sage for that element). The only two elements missing from the Zelda dichotomy are Forest and Spirit. Hope to see them get filled.

Skyward Sword was cel shaded, and they're including characters from that game. Do you mean stuff from games with the art style used in Four Swords, Wind Waker, etc.?

I think this is probably why I was reaaally hoping a character from WW would show up
I want to see that character re-imagined in a new art style!

They redesigned Impa and Ganondorf for Hyrule Warriors--Impa's redesign is more drastic than Ganondorf and that mane of his, but if they're willing to do that then I don't see a valid reason why they couldn't redesign a character from one of the sprited or cel-shaded games. It would be easy to redesign Tetra or other characters to have 'better' proportions.

And, going back to my mildly adamant insistence on Vaati's inclusion, he's got (more than)three appearances that nintendo could choose from for Hyrule Warriors. The small Wind Waker style Vaati might look out of place (but see my thing about Tetra and how that's kind of an easy fix), and the giant eyeball Vaati might be kind of impractical unless he's a boss, but 'Vaati Reborn' appears to have fairly accurate proportions to the more 'realistic' Zelda games:

I don't think he'd be out of place in Hyrule Warriors at all.

Yeah, maybe I was overreacting a bit. Maybe SOME characters could make the transition, like Tetra, and maybe Vaati.

All I want is to be able to play as Tingle, really.

Remember, Tingle has appeared in games other than Wind Waker, Four Swords Adventures, and Minish Cap. He first appeared in Majora's Mask and reappeared in Oracle of Ages. Of course, I don't know why I'm bringing up Oracle of Ages, since Nintendo seems to believe that the Oracle games never happened.

It might just be that they can't think of good movesets for a lot of these characters. For instance, I'd love to see Medli in the game (and would LOVE a realistic proportioned Rito... I love the Rito), but I'm not sure I can picture her fighting. (And they already game the Harp weapon to Sheik anyway.)

I'm willing to bet Toon Link will show up in some way or form, though. Possibly as an unlock after beating everything in the game, or a reskin of normal Link. Toon Link has been in too many games and is too liked to not at least get a mention.

... What are some Zelda items/weapons that haven't seen use as a subweapon or another character's main weapon? All I can think of is the Slingshot and some of the more unique items from one game only, like the Spinner or the Dominion Rod or that... air vacuum thing from SS.

I could see Medli making several wind based moves. Tingle could use a bunch of gadgets like bombs, and/or gag fairy moves. Can't see very much for Vaati other than generic looking magic moves. With darkness and evil sprinkled all over of course.

To see 'Vaati Reborn' in 3D would be so hella

I love Minish Cap and it breaks my heart how it's been pretty much forgotten

Vaati was a wind mage--wind based magical moves would be more his territory than Medli's. He's also got that giant eyeball form and those little tiny eyes that shoot lasers. I can see a lot of potential for him.

Medli would be cool too but I think her attacks would be less magical and more physical. Like swooping down on an enemy from the air, or picking them up and flying high into the air before dropping them.
