Something being dependent on framerate doesn't just happen on it's own. Losing so much durability due to corpses is probably unintended and thus a bug, but there had to be a conscious decision at one point to tie durability to framerate for some reason. Actually it's more likely that something else to do with how weapons work is tied to framerate and thats affecting durability.

I'm pretty sure what it is is that for every frame your attack animation comes in contact with an enemy, you loose a certain amount of durability. I think that, with a higher framerate, it simply registers more of the frames coming into contact with the enemy. Of course I'm far from technologically savvy in the least, but that's how it plays out logically in my head I guess. They should just try to change it to a set amount of durability per hit, I think

That's exactly how it works. It's a form of programming that is considered shoddy by today's standards, as there are ways with more class and tact to code for games than tying anything to framerate these days.

It isn't a bug, it's a bad move on From's part.

So I just fucked up everything.

My first save got corrupted (don't ragequit, kiddies), so I restarted. I use the Emerald Herald as a weapon damage test. Unfortunately, I hit her one too many times, and she said "If that is your desire." or something along those lines. At this point, I couldn't talk to her or use The Far Fire, even though she was still alive, and I used the bonfire. The only choice I had besides leave her alone was to just say "fuck it" and kill her. At least I got an Aged Feather, which is essentially a Homeward Bone with infinite uses, but now I can't level up or upgrade my Estus Flask. Should I start over again?

I can't remember for a fact, but I believe I'm somewhere between SL 40 and 45. I just beat the Flexile Sentry.

yea pretty much just restart, sl 40-45 is like maybe an hour or less of gameplay once you actually know what your doing/where to go and such


you can always call her ghost back but her particular grave costs astronomical amounts

That's it, I beat NG. I think I'm done with the game, I'm not terribly interested in PvP and pouring another 40 hours into NG+ would be too much.

Dark Souls run times decrease exponentially for every completion.

The first run takes between 50-100 hours

The second takes 20

The third takes 5

No, it doesn't. Drakekeepers are really fucking annoying no matter what system you're on.

Anyways with the amount of complaining on the subject, the chances of From patching it are really high.
