343i released Forge Island, a brand new map designed to be another huge Forge sandbox, for free.

I would pay all the cheddar if it turned out that you wind up playing as the ancient human FORTHENCHO, THE LORD OF ADMIRALS in said flashbacks. But that's a Battle Rifle in his hands, so probably not.

Is there a Halo game besides 2 where you play as the aliens?

Not in Campaign. You can play as Elites in Halo 2's multiplayer, Halo 3's multiplayer, and in Halo Reach you play as them in special game modes.

If Master Chief and this other guy become 'Guardians', does that mean that all the enemies will be killed by the Guardians?

So Microsoft announced the Master Chief Collection today at their E3 show. Here are the details.

It will include Halos 1-4, with Halo 2 getting the anniversary treatment this time since it will turn 10 this November. You can switch graphics with the press of a button again, even in multiplayer apparently. There's one unified interface between the four games. Just select the game in the menu, select the level, and play. As well, you can create a custom playlist, which means you can mix and match levels from across the four games to play back to back.

There is a brand new prologue at the beginning of Halo 1 and a new epilogue at the end of Halo 4. These probably tie in to Halo 5. The trailer they showed for Guardians had the new Spartan from the Guardians promo picture watching a hologram from an early scene of Halo 2 while listening to the Arbiter (Hell yeah) talk about the Chief.

Multiplayer is from all four games, with all the maps, and they're all in the same engines as their respective games. So jumping and moving and physics will be the same as Halo 3 in a Halo 3 map, and so forth. The matches will run on dedicated servers.

The price is going to be US$59.99.

The game also comes with access to the Halo 5 multiplayer beta.

Yeah, XB1 only. Can't really fault them, though, since they need exclusives and big-name titles to try and catch up with the PS4 in sales.

Apparently there were M+KB button prompts somewhere in the footage, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm pretty much done with Halo anyway.
