Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix is coming out December 2nd, 2014(US) and December 5th(EU)

Current Situation

-Huge Kingdom Hearts fanboy
-Don't have a PS3 or PS4
-Kingdom Hearts remasterings that include Final Mix content (Something I've been begging for a long time...ESPECIALLY in Kingdom Hearts 2)
-Tight on cheddar because of a computer I ordered.
-Kingdom Hearts 3 is on PS4, the HD remasters are on PS3.
-Divided on if I want the new game or the old ones with more content, will have to buy a console for just them.
-My mind is full of fuck.

This is why I don't understand people who say backwards compatibility is not a big deal. It seems to be true at first, until everyone remembers that every new console launch pisses on itself for about a year and companies just release everything on the old one instead.

Backwards compatibility on consoles means literally adding a console inside another, all the hardware needs to be there. In the PS4's case, that would've probably brought the price to FIVE HUNDRED AND NINENTY NINE US DOLLARS levels. Plus Sony has no incentive to do it anymore since with PS Now, they can just make you pay for the games you already have again while holding customers by the balls even tighter since you have nothing that resembles ownership over the games.

As well, even if they spent precious time and cheddar on developing an emulator for the console to make it backwards compatible, who's to say that your copy of Game X will run flawlessly? The console maker will most likely not test out every single title that has ever been released for their previous console.

Since E3 starts tomorrow I think it's important to stay un-hyped and look at any announcement or decision made by a company that seems like it may have been due to consumer demand or when they say it was due to consumer demand with a healthy dose of skepticism. I may be stating the obvious with this, but it's more likely that they're doing whatever they can in an effort to win people back rather than because people asked for this or that. This is because they need your cheddar now more than ever. Here's a video from after last year's E3 on the subject:

I try to get hyped for the fun of it, I rarely buy stuff at launch any way. It's pretty hard tho, usually the most I manage is mildly optimistic.

The way my sleep schedule works I probably won't be awake for a lot of these anyways, to be honest. I'll be catching up by reading the news and listening to some podcasts.

Nintendo is pretty much all that matters to me at this point and they aren't even participating in E3 technically

They're still there on the floor, they're still having an investors/press meeting during the direct that's closed off to the public, and they're still doing presentations and demos at E3.

Basically, the only thing they aren't doing is having a live conference in the theatre.
