Your game has to make it into the Hall of Fame in the Diretide event. I'm not sure if there is a set record or just bear the current top score but the odds of doing it in a pub game are insanely against you. But, it's a pretty fun event and I'll be content that I got to play it.

I think the records are reset every once in a while, and the highest score by the end of that cycle is declared the winner.

They say that it is better to create your own build(probably to change with patches and whatnot) but there are too many items and I can't do it. I probably could but I'm not patient enough and don't know every nuance about the hero that I think I should know and it makes it difficult.

Really liked the new Legion Commander in the holiday event. Might make my own build for this one.

Can't play because I'm worried I'll get unbearable lag. We build this amazing computer but couple it with our slow internet and everyone using Wifi as soon as I choose to and I'm being called a retard far too often for my liking.

Got back into Dota with a bunch of friends. Dunno why so many people think comebacks are impossible, we constantly make them, just won a game where we were 20 kills and all towers behind at one point. Pubbers will continually make mistakes if you defend patiently.

I always wanted to get back into this game.

Then I remembered that I need to understand advanced geometry, Algebra, and all that jazz to even play it proficiently.

AKA not worth the pain.

its actually not that complicated, LoL is by far worse imo in terms of just learning it.

what is it exactly that gets you? i can explain it for you

The problem is that comebacks are impossible because there is always that one guy who GGs at first blood, then half-asses for the rest of the game while whining in all-chat and demoralizing the team into this dumb defeatist attitude.

I've managed 4v5 comebacks too actually. But yeah playing this game with all randoms could be frustrating if you take it seriously.

This is probably one of the most overhyped "hard" games next to Dark Souls. It was seriously harder for me to get into Counterstrike, and I came from Quake. Read one or two guides, play a few bot games and boom, you're ready for pubstomping fun.

Rat dota is pretty much the opposite of our playstyle, at least 60 kills total (both teams) is the norm. I think I've heard singsing refer to this as "manly dota".

Last two times I tried to play, I had two people leave before the first five minutes. It'd be great to actually play a fair game.

Choosing and picking items and remembering every little detail to all 100+ heroes so you can pick the items to fight them back.

You can click on enemy heroes to see all the info about them, and even their inventories (and mana) if say their entire team went shadow blade or something dumb like that.

opposed to LoL which has idk how many champions? its not as bad as you think.

and you generally dont get items specifically to counter other heros, UNLESS its something major. like diffusal blade killing illusions/summons which is mostly just for warlock. monkey king bar for any hero that has evasion or builds into evasion

and all heros have item builds that people make that you can choose. they tell you what items to get and generally when to get them too, as well as explaining why you get it and which items are situational.
