A similar (non-spoilerish)joke could probably have been done for the bit where Edea pretends she's taken Agnes captive to get into the Sky Knight's fortress; most people usually make Agnes a black mage by then, which makes it bizarre when the guard mourns the death of Crowe yet doesn't notice that Edea is fine with her prisoner using his job.

By the way, why is your party full of teenaged girls?

Bravely Default has one of those worlds where everyone's name is fitting to their personality or profession, so when you meet a guy named Stabcrotch Murderface you know just to kill him on sight. Or that you need to stab his crotch and murder his face. One of the two.

As for the repitition thing, yeah, it's pretty bad at times.

The game should really have just been chapters 1-5, then 7 and 8, with the added story of chapter 6 folded into 5. 7 and 8 are where things actually start getting actually different, with the various job dudes teaming up and using strategies you'd use.

All being said, there are some really interesting differences if you pay attention. Unfortunately, some of that gets lost with all the stupid copy-paste dialogue. I could stomach the whole thing a lot better if they bothered to rewrite it a bit.

My favourite actually is what they do with Ominas Crowe, in regards to that - every time you fight him he says something different.

In the second fight he's absolutely terrified of Edea and says he will incinerate her soul and he drops ise-no-kami. He killed that reality's Edea and thinks the one in your party is a ghost.

Also, my favourite quote so far:

After you kill him 15 times though it turns out he's actually a good guy that only kills evil murder rapists and owns like a dozen puppies that he hands to orphans.

One of these days I'm going to get off my lazy arse, get Photoshop, and not make edits using the pile of futility that is MSPaint.

I was originally gonna change all four of their outfits, but Ringabel already had his arms crossed like that so I did him first, and then I looked at it and was like, "Battle Lingerie Ringabel. Edit done."

Edea needs to be more... mischievous/laughing. No doubt she forced him into it.

Agnes's face was already pretty much perfect.
