This client downloads and installs the latest PSO2 version for you AND the English Patches that basically has everything necessary to play translated. Read how to do it, it's very simple.

Setting is futuristic.
Gameplay is like Tera.
Customization is the best I've toyed with, and I have played a lot of games. I even found a person that looked exactly like freaking Sailor Neptune.

servers in this game are called ships, and most english speakers seem to roll on ship2. there are several lobbies in the game for each ship, and the english guys mostly hang out in B-020, or block20. remember this when making your characters

I've tried a handful of times to get into this game and it's just... A grind. Of course, every time I did I was always by myself, never really had a group to run with.

There a way to play this in English, or do I have to suffer playing in Japanese?

I stopped playing about 6 or 7 months ago, I've heard there's a new race and new class, are there any new zones and whatnot as well added since then?



Only as much as the translation patch adds, mostly necessary game elements like stats and what to do for quests. If you're looking for story you'll have to wait for it to be localized.

Just tell em to release it on steam, give it a TF2 promo, and boom, instant million gamers. Or just to release it on steam, period. A lot of Phantasy Star lovers (like myself) have been waiting fucking YEARS for this bitch to get released in any form. I've been waiting for it to be localized, but fuck, I might have to start playing the japanese version to get my fix.

Actually, there is a story translation patch that does a pretty good job of translating everything. I think the only things that can't be translated are item names because they're pulled off the server, not from the actual game.

and the tweaker does have item translations that are updated extremely frequently for every little patch added to the game.

The only things that aren't currently translated, for the most part, are the random sayings of NPCs that have no bearing on the story missions, matter board, or other such advancements of gameplay.

Don't expect Wood to tell you anything in English soon.

That, and some item descs seem to remain in JP.

But yeah...Between English Patch, Large Files, Story Patch, and the optional tick for the Item Patch via Tweaker, pretty much everything - from missions to mobs to gear to client orders [sorta sidquests if you don't know] are translated.

That said, I think I'm in the minority and made a male character. No waifu for me.
