I played my first session today. Chose Knight, haven't gotten into a covenant yet, managed to beat the giant after 4 tries, 2 of them with summons. I learned to avoid that stomp, and throwing weapons like knives and firebombs were pretty useful as long as I remembered to lock on to his midsection before throwing them. I've decided to keep at least 1 or 2 firebombs with me at all times in case I run into any more oil barrels in convenient places.

I also figured out that the shortbow is really useful for coaxing individual enemies out from standing guard in a group so I don't have to fight them all at the same time.

I also saw a tiny blue glowing bug-like thing in the Cardinal's tower area. I managed to hit it with my last throwing knife but that didn't kill it and it escaped. Does anybody have any idea what that is?

I see, thanks. I'll try to kill it tomorrow.

Shrine of Storms 1 was a huge pain in the booty thanks to those flying asshole manta rays. The Adjudicator was a pretty silly boss.

I also managed to kill the filthy man vendor earlier by accidentally attacking him while chasing a crystal lizard so I have no way of buying hardstone, which makes upgrading weapons annoying because I have to farm.

The fact that enemies stop spawning after so many lives leaves me second-guessing my decisions on what to use souls on.

I also noticed that when you block an attack, there's no real sound effect coming from said block, even if I'm blocking a metal weapon with a metal shield and it should create a very clear noise. The sound usually comes from enemies hitting the ground or walls with their attack. That seems like a pretty big oversight for a game that's heavily focused on atmosphere.

What so you mean? I hear shit when they hit my shield.

Also if you want more souls without farming enemies put your soap sign down for people to summon you. Free souls

stumbled upon Huntsman's Copse on my way to Majula from Heide's Tower. The skeletons in the caves are tricky tho, stuck to the woods and cliffsides. Got as far as the boss before stopping for the day. My bro was with me and we started making skeleton puns and speaking in Skeletor voices before dying, them wheel skeletons suck.

I hear it now. I had to turn up the volume a bit because it's such a limp, quiet noise.

Aww yeah, I've got a renegerator's ring and adjudicator's shield +1. My character has 878 health and regenerates 7hp/sec. This should help with moongrass management.

I just invaded in Tower of Latria and became the old monk. Beat the player, it's kinda silly how much hp you get, plus you can still use curatives.

Just had a really intense duel against an invader. No small amount of dumb luck was involved.

I also beat the False King on my first try at SL 67. He was pretty challenging but his attacks were well telegraphed. I honestly thought it'd take me several tries, considering he's often called one of the game's hardest bosses.

Vengarl. I get the feeling it's a Tekken reference.

Watch that victory pose. Notice the jaguar mask.
