My older sister offered to buy me some books. There's not really any that I can think of that I want right now, but she insists on getting me some, so I could use some recommendations I guess.

Edit:

I'm really book hungry for some dystopian future stories. I just finished reading the Birthmarked trilogy, and I thought the first and last books were good, but the second felt like it was rush-written.

I need more dystopian future books, if anyone has read any good ones?

Fahrenheit 451 if you somehow haven't read it.

Cordwainer Smith's stories are good and somewhat dystopian

His science fiction works take place in the far future where humanity is ruled over the "Instrumentality of Mankind" who try to protect it with good intentions but in a very mundane utopian way, with regulated emotions and things. A few stories are about the "Underpeople", a lower caste of part-animal people made to do certain jobs and seen as very inhuman.

They might not be as grim as you'd like, they're quite optimistic really, but they're very interesting and imaginative pieces of speculative fiction. They're often written like legends or romantic accounts of something that happened a long while ago.

I love how these Star Wars audiobooks include sound effects and music.

A Scanner Darkly is p good for dystopian fiction, although it gets a little bit muddled and confusing. It's kind of the point though? So I dunno if it'll fit in with what you're looking for.

I found a collection of old G.R.R. Martin short stories in a garage sale. Those are really great, why did everyone forget they even exited ?
(Also Science-Fiction short stories are the best thing. Ever)

Were the characters in Redwall normal sized, or were they all human sized?

Just read Good Omens again, and ... still one of my favorite books.

I'm about halfway through Starship Troopers. I gotta say, I like it a lot. The morality lessons thrown in every now and then are nice.
