This comic has spoilers. Put a sack over Lysandre's head and refer to him as "some guy".

Someone please explain Katie's comment about shinies and easy mode, because I gave up on Pokemon after the number exceeded 251. Are shiny pokemon stronger than normal pokemon now or just easier to obtain?

All shinies are are different colors of the same pokemon that are very rare, i.e. red gyarados.
Someone found a way to guarantee shiny pokemon when hatching them by setting up a trading ring and hacking data packets from their router.
Shinies are now 100 times more common for this reason.

Trainer shiny values and Instacheck. It was really fun to help others hatch shinies and get your own shinies hatched, but when Nintendo released the patch that killed Battle Checker (which was a cheaty program people used to look at their opponent's stats and movesets), they brought Instacheck down with it.

Shinies don't have any special features other than looking different. They exist purely for bragging rights. I've yet to run into one in the 6th gen, but I do have several from previous games.

What they've left out is that there are three different types of shinies: The ones that look way cooler than the normal pokemon, the ones that look almost identical, and the lime green ones.

I love it when katie takes Norrins ideas. XD

He is so terrible at Pokemon, and yet I laugh so hard when shenanigans like this happen.

See Safari Zone and Pokemon Musical XD

Shinies 'only' look better, but aren't shinies like, guaranteed to have the best possible stats for that pokemon? Or just really good IVs? I swear there's a real game reason to use shinies instead of normal pokemon.

Back in Gen 2, gold silver and crystal, shininess was based on IVs, but from Gen 3 onward it was based on some other inconsequential thing, so no, shinies do not necessarily have better stats. Also, even in Gen 2, the IV layout for being a shiny was only slightly above average, a 10 in all stats where the maximum was 15. Not to mention, HP didn't have it's own IV and was based on a formula using the other IVs, and shininess pretty much guaranteed it to have essentially a 0 IV in HP.

I'm amused by the sound effect "sploop" ...I'm guessing it came from Lapras.

This comic hits close to home for me. Of course you need rules in the game, but when I want to draw a Pokemon comic why do I need to limit trainers to only 6 Pokemon maximum at any given time or only 4 moves per Pokemon? Or in this case just using multiple guys to stop the bad guy or super legendary or what the crap. It wouldn't be such a problem if you wouldn't get swamped by angry Pokemon fans which just yell "this is wrong" at you all the time, ugh.

Not only did he send out six Cockfighting Society at once, he also mega evolved two Cockfighting Society in the same battle. Judgement will be super effective on him.

This is a legendary weapon I found deep within the dark, dank pit of the 90's, though its might is no less relevant today. I bestow its awesome might to you, so that you can use it upon those that would ruin your fun in the manner you describe.
