It's official: I just can't bring myself to support the Dawnguard. I mean, sure, they got crossbows, but I use so many proletariats that makes vampires god-like, I just don't see the point of joining them.

I joined the Dawnguard because the vampires are evil and need to die.

Honestly if she wasn't an immortal quest NPC I'd have killed Serana the instant she stepped out of that sarcophagus and I saw she had an Elder Scroll on her back. As if I'd let a vampire hold onto one of those things.

I find it amusing in Skyrim that during the daedric quest involving the cannibals, a woman calls me a cannibal for eating human flesh while I'm playing a Khajit character.

Also, I killed the cannibals and later found out there's a quest where you have to collect the daedric artifacts. Whoops.

What is a man/mer/beast, but a miserable pile of secrets?

With all these patches, I didn't think I'd encounter a game breaking bug, but failing to pick up the second elder scroll when you're meant to during Dawnguard means that trying to pick it up later won't place it in your inventory and you can't finish the DLC or the main quest. But no worries, two console commands were all that I needed to continue.

Okay, wow. Forgotten Vale is probably the most impressive looking place in Skyrim. And those dragons, never trust a huge open fields of ice.

Has anyone else run into that bug in Skyrim where the game starts crashing to your desktop when your save file gets above 11 megabytes? I tried to go to Hag's Run for two miscellaneous quests, but every time I try to enter the building the game crashes and steam insists on synching my game (which takes like five minutes).

You can disable Steam sync under the game's options on Steam. I don't know how big my save files are at this point but I don't think I've ever experienced a crash when trying to enter an area, just randomly out in the game world. Try verifying the game cache.

I'm not sure how to verify the game cache, but I'll try disabling the sync. Skyrim has been insisting on uploading my files to the cloud for the past few days--it's been pretty annoying.

Right click the game in your library > properties > local files > verify integrity of game cache. This will reset your game settings, mind you.

Thanks for the tip. It worked for me.

Since I verified the integrity of the game cache, I managed to continue my game. Also, I'm having a blast with the Vampire Lord.

I verified the game cache after advancing a little bit further in the actual story and I was able to enter Hag's End. Hopefully the game won't crash anywhere else, but knowing the reputation Bethesda's games have, it's probably only a matter of time.

Also, I sacrificed one of my housecarls on Boethiah's shrine because she annoyed me. Every time I entered my house she asked me if I was lost.

I sacrificed one of the guys from the mages college that I did a fetch quest for. I also killed him with the Ebony Blade since he counted as a "friend", so I got a charge on it as well, killing two Daedric birds with one stone.

I don't think I have the blade you're referring to in my game. I'm probably not going to bother with all of the daedric quests anyway, since I already passed up two of the artifacts I would have needed--the cannibal ring and the Rueful Axe. I just couldn't bring myself to kill poor Barbas :c
