For a change of pace, let's try a reverse Nowi edit.

I didn't notice any difference in whatever character's skin colour it is that's the problem either.

Also this thing about being taught to catch Pokemon happens every game now - the comic's kinda funny but I feel that this observation kinda goes without saying, I guess.

That little girl is hella annoying though.

Generally though they force you to do it before you can even catch Pokemon (or in earlier games before you even knew that balls were available to catch Pokemon).

They teach you near the end of route 2, which means you have to walk through some grass patches to reach them and usually run into Pokemon there. Hell, you can even trade as soon as you catch a Pokemon, so you could be running with some powerhouse Pokemon before you even reach them.

But NO. You're learning to catch Pokemon because Serena/Calem-senpai knows a lot because their parents work at Game Freak.

Oh god, the "My (relative) works for (company)" line.

That was all over the everything.

Phantasy Star Universe included.

"Well my uncle works for SEGA and he says there's an update next week."

yeahno.

What if future spam bots would post comic edits?

I'd be fine with that.

Espurr Edit:

I hope it came out alright, because this is my first time trying to make an edit, and my first time trying to post a picture to a forum.

PS: K-Town, please make a comic using (male) Meowstic so I can make it my avatar.

Sup all!

This is me first post, after years and...year...of lurking the hilarious Entei edits, I finally make an account to comment.

On this whitewashing thing. Yeah, I'm not one to tell others on what not to make a big deal out of, but to call someone out on whitewashing on something that is quite hard to tell in games is kinda rude, even when done politely. I mean, coulda just said that her character is darker than she was without the rather provocative term. I mean, as a fellow black guy, not even I noticed her skin tone. Looking at a picture, it's still sorta hard. I dunno, I just wanna be careful about that term being thrown around. I've seen real whitewashing.

But...eh...don't worry, my other posts here won't be nearly as dramatic. :psyduck:

If it hadn't been mentioned I wouldn't have been able to tell that the comic had been changed.

Eh, whitewashing doesn't have to do with intent really... That said, I'm not one to mince words. Personally, I noticed it right away in the comic and it bothered me, so I called it as I saw it. I'd want someone to do the same for me.

To say something is whitewashed is serious but it's not an attack or an insult... So I don't understand the resistance. I'm here because I think Katie is awesome and a fantastic artist. I really love her work and... I could sit here and do a whole ramble about how I'm an artist too and I know that it takes a lot of skill to do what she does etc. etc. but nobody wants to read that. :P

Anyway all that said, I'm really glad it's fixed now!! Thanks so much Katie! :D

It's a word with many a negative connection, so saying it for an issue so minor comes off as brazen and very, very negative. You don't gotta pull your words, but be prepared to face some stiff resistance, especially online.

And...Nowi Espurr edits need to be a thing.

Does Espurr have some sort of unique plot or personality in the game or something? Because if you just want a pyschic pokemon for the sake of hypnosis jokes, Mewtwo has actually been drawn by Katie (on account of being a character in Smash Bros.).

So I guess what I'm saying is I don't really know what a Nowi Espurr edit would be?

Edit: but I made you one anyway
