I wonder if they're going to go for another season. There are a few things that could be left to talk about (but I admit they aren't likely)


Korra might decide to go back and try and forge new connections with the previous avatars (the files aren't gone, just the desktop shortcuts)

WHY IS JINORA NOW AIRBENDER JESUS.

St. Asami continues to suffer for her faithfulness to the mighty Avatar.

Alternatively, Korra learns that it's not such a great idea to let the Spirits roam around. Particularly not the ones that either prey on, or are otherwise malicious towards humans (Koh, Wan Shi Tong, spiderbitch)

Also, mover episode is probably my favorite of the season for the sheer fact that
wait for it
BOLIN WAS FULLY RELEVANT, COMPLETELY USEFUL, AND A GODDAMNED BADASS ACTION HERO.

AND IT ONLY TOOK A WHOLE SEASON

The Legend of Korra
Book Three: Metal

A few years after the Dark Avatar incident...
Korra has isolated herself and trains obsessively in the Bending Arts, feeling responsible for the loss of the past Avatars. She collects and hones multiple skills: Sandbending, Spirit Bending, Chi Blocking and Lightning Bending in the hopes that she can arm her successor singlehandedly. She leaves her hideout only in response to major conflict, striking decisively against clashing Spirits and Humans only to return to seclusion and train. Korra has become obsessed with overcoming her imperfections.

Mako has been placed in charge of a task force to finish off the failing triads. He and his men reach their limit when a new Triple Threat comes into being. The old Benders of various gangs have been united by the outlaw Varrick's resources and a mysterious new ally in the form of a renegade Spirit. The combination of Spirit, Tech, and Bender threatens to plunge Republic City under a wave of corruption.

Chief Bei-Fong approaches Korra's friends to find out how to bring her out of seclusion and into Republic City to aid them in taking down the Triple Threats. Tenzin, Mako, Bolin, and Jinora all approach her separately, only to find that she's not interested in city life, only in sparring to add to her skills to deal with the direst of future threats. Lin uses this to draw Korra out, promising to teach her Metal Bending if she'll return and aid the task force. Korra must reattach with her humanity if she hopes to face the greatest threat of all. Vattu returns in the heart of Light's greatest champion as conflicts spread like wildfire across the city and the world.

Possible story developments:
In various locations throughout the Physical and Spirit World, Korra finds her past lives trapped by their memories. In freeing them from their pasts she may free herself.
We meet Lin's family and maybe learn who the father is. Maybe we find out why she's such a stick in the mud compared to her mother.
With the Spirit World and Physical World interacting regularly a team of mediators have formed to help handle disputes. Jinora leads the team while Tenzin tries to keep up.

One bad relationship turned the daughter of fun loving Toph into a by-the-book hardass?

I dunno, Toph is a pretty strict drill sergeant teacher.

Something my brother pointed out was that Toph was the youngest of her old squad, but isn't around anymore. Was she killed in the line of duty?

The Creators said that book 3 will be titled Change.

No, but if you've got the right sort of aggressive personality, one bad relationship can leave a chip on your shoulder for an extended period of time. Especially if you were on the "shit end" of the relationship.

So is Korra gonna learn changebending or something? What kind of bending would that be? Bending coins?

I swear to god, I will bloodbend the first motherfucker to make the obvious Obama joke.

It might just be a change to how avatars are.

Alas, my speculation is now merely fan fiction. Maybe she absorbs wandering spirits and shape shifts as a result.

It's not a true fanfiction unless there's a forced, awkward, sexual encounter by two of the characters. (homosexuality optional)
