So...at what point did Pokemon breeding become the entire game?

Since breeding became a lot more like real world breeding with a lot more control over what can and will be passed on, which makes competitive more accessible while still being work to get right.

Plus lol no post-game.

No post-game? That's surprisingly rare nowadays with how common DLC is. No announcements on anything like that forthcoming?

No paid DLC and no DLC to "balance the game" are the official announcements.

There is post game content, it's just not a lot, especially coming off Gen 5 and 4 having about 3 towns at least to explore after the credits.

Good news: My team contracted Pokerus while training in the wild.

Bad news: I am in Stark Mountain and my team is nearly all at lv. 70. I'm pretty sure their EVs are all maxed out, and I have no interest in training anything in my box, so this virus, even rarer than finding a Shiny, is entirely pointless to me.

With my Hawlucha I'm going to try purposefully giving it bad IVs for HP, Def and Sp Def

any reccomendations on how to breed 0s for IVs?

The IV guy, after looking at your pokemon's IV's and saying what is at 31, will then say "but it's XX is terrible..." if it has a 0 in anything. Then, pass it down like any other stat while breeding.
As for getting the initial 0 IV pokemon, that's just a 1/32 chance per stat you want at 0. You'll probably need to chain a bunch of breeding projects together to get something with 0/31/0/xx/0/31.

Luck, pretty much.

find males (or Ditto) that are breedable with terrible IVs.

Why do you want 0's in those IV's anyways? I can understand attack, but HP and Defenses don't really work against you.

The set I run is ruined if anything that hits Hawlucha wouldn't be a OHKO

Focus sash+Unburden, swords dance first turn and hopefully use the focus sash first turn, getting put at 670 speed and then suicide sweep

weak to 9 different types almost guarantees that the move will be OHKO, only things that really screw the set over are weather and priority

Interesting strategy. Could be pretty effective, but make sure you take out any priority users first or you're screwed.

Edit: oops I can't read

If Hawlucha learned a priority move the set would be perfect, but alas

It also doesn't learn Reversal which really hustles my bones. If it had those two moves it'd be like a perfect pokemon

that too I guess

the set definitely has holes but it's something that seems really fun to run

EDIT: Have a Mienfoo with 31 Attack and 1-2 Def and Sp Def

we're getting somewhere

So I accidentally Masuda'd a shiny Rotom.

It's Modest, has 4 max IVs (though one of them is Attack) and Hidden Power Ice.
I am amazed.

I recently trained a Hitmonlee with a very similar mindset as the Hawlucha you're planning on training creaky.

Hitmonlee @ Liechi Berry
Adamant : Unburden (HA)
EVs: 252 Atk, 252Spd
Endure, Reversal, Stone Edge and Earthquake.

Instead of relying on a focus sash being destroyed whilst setting up a swords dance, Hitmonlee uses Endure to survive the hit and gets the attack boost from the activated berry as well as the Unburden boost. 200BP + STAB Reversal does a lot of damage.
