So right now my team is made up of
Zangoose (Lv. 53)
Charizard (Lv. 52)
Pidgeot (Lv. 51)
Greninja (Lv. 51)
Chesnaught (Lv. 51)
Absol (Lv. 27)

I'm working on training getting them up to a decent level before I go face Team Flare for what seems like the last time.

Has anybody else noticed that some of the badge names seem pretty uninspired? Bug Badge, Psychic Badge, Fairy Badge, Plant Badge... they probably could have done better.

Still no shiny Froakies. I also hear that you can't poke radar the tall grass so I'll have to breed for a shiny Honedge.

I got shiny Mareep in my ~13th box with masuda. Of course that's a long shot before the time that's to be expected usually. Does that mean getting shinies got made easier or was I just lucky? I'm not complaining.

But yeah, keep at it, shiny Greninja looks awesome.

All of it is luck based. You can make a bazingalion omelets until you get a shiny. Or you could be a lucky fucky and get it with your first egg.

So I figured out I can Thief items away from wild pokemon and don't have to kill them to get what I want.

I'm getting that fucking Lucky Egg.

So I succeeded in gathering all the pokemon I wanted for my team: Braxien, Inkay, Helioptile, Amaura, Noibat, and Phantump. I'm a little worried though, since none of my physical attackers are sweepers while all of my special attackers are. Malamar and Trevenant just don't have really great speed stats to justify training them in speed--do they?

And my Amaura is probably going to be a mixed attacker since neither attack stats are trained.

I'm just going to awkwardly sidle on in here because I can't resist the Pokemanz, man.

@Cori I wouldn't really bother wasting EVs on Trevenant's speed, because there's no way you can save it at this point. Malamar on the other hand... I'm not sure. I haven't used a Malamar yet.

Take my advice with a grain of salt.

A feature I'd like to see return in a future Pokemon game is modifying the Pokeball after capturing the Pokemon. Not just aesthetics like the Capsules but possibly other features you could invest in for each Pokemon. Things which would be restricted in PvP but more geared towards the rest of the gameplay. Replenishing HP in various amounts after a fight, PP restoration, EXP boosts and things like that. I'd make it competitive by restricting how many modifications can fit on each kind of Pokeball. Base Pokeballs with the lowest capture rate would have the most room for improvements. Higher end Pokeballs like Ultra Balls would have less room. Masterballs would have no room for proletariats. Give people an incentive to use the lower tier Pokeballs throughout the game and reward catching Pokemon the hard way.

Got a Floatzel a few days back in a WT. Got a Beartic and Zorua today in a WT. Kinda makes me feel bad for offloading garbage Pokemon into the WT network.

I'm kinda half-trying for a shiny Shroomish and Snorunt atm though; I'll probably dump the non-shiny offspring back into the WT network to make up for my past sins.

Somebody gave me a hidden ability Shroomish via GTS - I'm kinda at a loss as how to make the most of 'Quick Feet' though - only 'BURNED' status can really trigger the benefits of that I guess.

[looks at Bulbapedia]

Hahaha! Oh god; It stops Paralysis making your Pokemon move last too; That's awesome!

Hidden ability Breeloom gets technician, the ability that makes Scizor so useful. It can play a similar roll with mach punch and bullet seed. It's apparently quite good competitively but I haven't used one so I can't say if it's better than Poison Heal Breeloom. Also that the two would be used for different purposes makes it difficult to compare.
