I start out giving a good pokemon, like this spare Throh I have, and then I keep retrading the pokemon I receive if I don't like it.

Beat the champ.

I went to the Battle Test thing in Lumiose city afterwards. First fight: Venipede, Chespin and another unevolved pokemon. Pfff too easy.
Fight #2: Opens up with goddamn Garchomp.
This escalated quickly.

I think someone on /vp/ challenged it with a Doublade and another Pokemon with Aerial Ace or something.

Aerial Ace and Doublade both missed.

Not possible. Aerial Ace is a guaranteed hit.

But c'mon. The AI is capable of cheating. Look at Fire Fang KOing Wonder Guard Spiritomb in Gen 4.

This honestly wouldn't surprise me if it's true.

don't worry the next gym is just a 3D teleport puzzle that is bodaciously straight forward and not hard at all and the last gym is just constantly hitting switches and oops if you fucked up better keep cycllinngggg

so yeah they just get better and better

I like the gyms having a theme and being elaborate. Especially the grass one was pretty and filled with the best sort of trainer: pokemon rangers.

Haven't played a Pokemon game in three years or so, mainly because after White I kinda felt burnt out. But I picked up X the other day and it's pretty great. Hawlucha, Pancham and Floette are easily my favorite new pokemon I've seen, with the sword (forget its name) and the Froakie line being pretty good too. Also I'm just so pop flyin' they've finally made Mawile actually decent you have no idea I've loved this little bastard for years.
