The avoiding fainting part from what I've heard works like the Sturdy ability, and with status effects the Pokemon might be able to heal itself. It happened with my Braixen earlier today where it pushed through its paralysis.

Better than sturdy even. My Floette survived 3 attacks in a row even though she was already down to 1 HP.

Well, I just spent about half an hour maxing out affection on a Pokemon in Amie.

I like that it's kinda tedious for the rewards.

Best method to do so:

-Pat the Pokemon until it makes a music note in a speech bubble.

-Stuff it full of the best Pokepuffs you can (things with frosting and toppings are the best), or if you're starting out, stuff it full of the crappy ones to make room for the good stuff (it'll just go a little slower).

-Play a minigame twice to "reset" this. You're also better off playing the highest difficulty of the minigame (besides unlimited) to get the most high quality puffs. Eventually you will fill up the puffs, so you can just phone it in for the second game if you want.

-Keep repeating until the Pokemon is bursting with hearts and sparkles. This means you've "ranked up" the affection. You have to do this 5 times, and the affection will be maxed out and you'll get the benefits of Amie the most.

This'll take awhile at first but get faster as you get more high quality puffs. Also, this hasn't been confirmed, but it seems on many Pokemon, they have a preferred place to be patted. If you find it, their face will change to an even more content one, and you might get more hearts (the hearts are what determines how fast you rank up. I think you need 50 or so for each rank.)

Ok, I'm trying to do pokemonamie to boost my favourite pokemon, Shedinja. He doesn't eat puffs, he CAN'T. Also, he has no expressions or movements at all, other than tilting with you when you move your head, pretty frustrating. In other news, having a super trained Shedinja from level 20 in the game rocks, breezed through some big fights while the AI just gave up trying to hit it.

Pfffft! I tried to name a Rhyhorn 'Horny' and the game told me that I wasn't allowed to call it that.

Built-in rude word monitors. Ha!

'Horny' isn't even that offensive - it's like, not even offensive at all!

I don't suppose one of you knows if Floette learns any really good moves after level 28 that it won't learn once I evolve it.

Game-breaking bug found.

Thought I'd give you guys a heads up, don't save outdoors in Lumiose City if you want to be safe.

And only a month after they released a patch for bugs in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team.

I wonder if it's that Nintendo/Game Freak have been letting their game testing slip* - or it's just that they haven't had the chance to offer game patches before?

*Obviously there was the horrendous Missingno glitch in G1.

Question: In regard to patches, do they save to the game cart (if you have one) or to the system memory only?

That actually required some fucking about though, understandable to see how they could have missed it in testing. And weird bugs like this one could be due to any number of reasons since it doesn't seem to affect all copies.

One thing I never noticed until they had both in the same game, I really like active gym leaders who go out and do stuff than the ones that sit in the gym all day and just give a short pre/post battle speech. Olympia is the worst offender.

New feature in Pokemon X2 and Y2: rename your moves

"MOONSTONE CANNON, FIRE!"
