Just to clarify guys, the main evidence that Aranea manipulated the clock is right there in the image. Her eye appears on the clockface right before the needle switches to just. It could just mean that she considers the situation lucky for her, but I figure it's that she passively manipulated the situation due to her aspect. Even though probability doesn't necessarily play a role in the clocks decision, it still has three outcomes; just, heroic and neutral. The just option was the most viable, and the most in Aranea's favor, and since she probably has All the Luck, it turned in her favor. Otherwise iunno man shit happens.

The clock doesn't control it. The clock is just an indicator.

John's death was neither Heroic nor Just so the clock kept ticking, not slowing at all.
Vriska's death, on the other hand, was Just. Her clock slowed before the crowbar hit it.
Jade's death was Just, nothing involving Aranea came on the clock until after it had started slowing.
