Im guessing its because Tarquin just ASSUMES that since he's clearly such a brilliant mastermind villain, his son must of course be the hero of the story, I dont think Tarquin can pull his head out of his booty long enough to realize that HE'S the sidequest villain, while Roys mission against Xykon takes precedent, since it involves the fate of reality and a blood oath, rather than an aging wannabe warlord playing Stratego with one kingdom.
