So, to be clear, how would either game work exactly? Would it be a lot of input from the main character, with every other character only showing up as needed? Like a puzzle for one person? Or would trials be with a jury and have everyone participate or something of that nature?
EDIT: Wait wait wait, I saw your note on people making suggestions and participating in that way, which I kind of like. It'll be like having 10 Mayas all the time!

It'll work like this: I'll write up a case and open sign-ups for people who want to be a character in the case(it won't be short one-line dialogues or anything, I'll do those myself as necessary). The people who signed up will be given their roles and a link to a private chat, where I'll explain the case details. Everyone else is free to give suggestions about what to do to move the case along. The people portraying characters will also be given a general idea about what they need to respond to and how they should respond in terms of plot development. Other than that, characters are free to write their dialogue however they want, as long as it doesn't derail the case! I'll be narrating what's going on, and probably portraying a character myself(but it would be someone relatively unimportant, like the Judge.)
For instance, let's say Game Angel is the main character and Barabba is being cross-examined(which basically means that he's being questioned). A typical cross-examination would go something like this:
Game Angel: Barabba! You were at the crime scene at the time of the murder, and I've provided reasonable doubt that you could have killed Anon!
At this point in the trial, Angie looks at the notes I've provided and thinks, "Oh, we've reach this particular point in the trial and Marc wants me to grill Barabba for a cross-examination. She writes that out whatever way she wants.
Judge Marc: Hmm...... Yes, Ms. Angie has a point! Witness, I'd like to hear your testimony about what you were doing at the crime scene!
Barabba also would also have the notes, and know that Angie's push for testimony is his cue to respond.
Barabba: F-fine! I'll tell you happened! See if I care!
Witness Testimony: What I Was Doing At the Crime Scene
Music from the original games will be provided accordingly.
I was walking home from work when I noticed two men struggling in the alleyway!
It was dark, so I couldn't see their faces.....
Suddenly, one of the men pushed the other onto the ground!
He pulled out a gun and fired two shots! *BANG!* *BANG!*
I was shocked by what I saw, but I managed to run to the nearest payphone and call the police!
Testimony in the Ace Attorney games is presented as a series of statements, indicating by the spaces between them. It's the job of the viewers to choose which statement to "Present" which evidence against. People can also choose to "Press" a statement for more information. Barabba is given a set of points to hit in his testimony, but once again, he is free to write them however he wants. Finally, the text is green simply as a nod to the original games, but the characters don't have to do that, and I might even advise against it if people find it obnoxious.
So let's do an example!
Forumite: >Present Magic Wand against Statement 2 Forumite: >Press Statement 4 Forumite: >Present Statue of Liberty against Statement 3
Angie looks at the suggestions and sees the second forumite's suggestion, to Press Statement 4. She looks at her notes and sees that she's supposed to respond to that. Barabba is expecting this as well.
Angie: You're saying the victim was shot twice?
Barabba: Th-that's right! One! Two! Right in the chest!
Now let's try presenting evidence. A clever forumite looks through the Court Record(a list of important information about the trial, like characters, evidence, etc.), and notices a glaring contradiction!
Court Record
Evidence: Autopsy Report-The victim was killed by a single fatal gunshot wound to the chest.
But that contradicts Barabba's testimony! Also I'm not sure if that's the format I'll be going with for the Court Record.
Forumite: >Present Autopsy Report against Statement 4
Angie sees this and recognizes that as her cue. She's aware of why that statement is wrong, so she is able to explain clearly.
Angie: Barabba.....
Angie: Take a look at this autopsy report.
Angie: It clearly states that the victim was killed with a "single fatal gunshot wound".
Angie: So how is it possible that you saw him get shot twice?!?!?
Angie: You're lying, Barabba!
Barabba: Wh-whaaaaaaaaaaat?!?!?
The last two statements by Angie and Barabba aren't things I would have told them to say. They can choose to include them for fun.
That's how the main part of the game will work. As far as investigations go, it'll mostly be forumites saying "Go here, talk to them, present evidence to this person, ask this question, etc.", and the characters responding accordingly. Hope that answers your questions!

I totally like the idea but I'm worried it's too on-rails. I feel like it'd be fine for you, Marc, to make suggestions but not necessarily say (to jump on your example) "it's time to cross-examine Barabba now". Giving them specific character needs (like telling a witness character "you can't let them know you like bananas, don't mention that or you'll be so embarrassed"), and letting them loose with that. Unless that's what you were saying and I'm just misreading everything.
Either way though, this sounds like a blast and I'm totally interested.

Yeah, no worries. I'll try to make my notes pretty obvious about what should be revealed and when. And Petah, once we get started, if you'd like, I can give you some bases for characters, and you can take it from there.

I.....really don't think I'll be casting people as murder victims. It's pretty rare that Phoenix Wright ever interacted with the murder victims(it's happened only twice, I think), and it's kind of boring for someone to have like one line before they're gone for good. I'll take over all the very minor characters, because it's no fun for the "actors" to have such a short time in the role.
