"Okay, if Whitney passed out despite her having no knowledge of ingesting anything before she passed out, then how did she pass out?

You guys should get into the habit of feeding your characters or assuming they were fed. Don't want you dropping dead on us.

"Oh my, something seems wrong about the last scenario... but I can't quite put my finger on it... can anyone spot the contradiction?"

Tom narrows his eyes at her but doesn't say a word.

"Aha! The contradiction is, of course, that dogs don't have fingers." *laughtrack*

"The contradiction is, of course, that Punchy claims to have placed an empty bottle of medicine in his closet, yet the second bottle in still brand new! This means that there wouldn't be any medicine to drug Whitney with!"

"W-well, you see, Nook put an unknown amount of medicine in my closet, so it might have been one of those"

"And the only person who could have known how many bottles Nook put in the closet....is you, Punchy."

"But I haven't checked my locker since I put my empty bottle in there..."

"Is that so? It seems to me that the way this situation has presented itself, either you're lying....or we're presented with a brand new contradiction."

Pierce turns to Tom Nook.

"If I may ask, Nook, was there an empty bottle in the closet when you put more medicine in there?"

Interesting. Wish we'd known about all this medicine stuff so we had the opportunity to check the trash for bottles.

"Yes, I removed an empty bottle of medicine when I put the new bottle or bottles of medicine in the closet. After all, it's not like he had any use for it."

"And you didn't go back into his closet later to do anything?"

"... No. I was only in his closet once."

"So, Punchy..." Joe tapped his foot on the ground. "You caught a cold?"

"If what you say is true, Nook.....then we've got a serious problem."

"That medicine cures colds when ingested orally....and also knocks out the user."

"Punchy used the medicine, put the empty bottle in the closet, and then was presumably rendered unconscious."

"Afterwards, Nook placed more medicine in Punchy's closet. Since one was used to knock out Whitney and one was left, there must have been two or more delivered."

"But there's a problem. Who could have taken the medicine from his closet?"

"Well, after I got knocked out by the medicine somebody must have taken my ID card and took one of the bottles from my closet... but who?"
