I'd play if I had the time and could bring myself to endure the hassle of collecting gear again.

Not very hard with welfare epics.

I hate that term so much. It's not accurate and it's the battlecry of the elitist assholes who would kill the game if they had their way.

How is it not accurate? You can get your first epic item within days of turning 90 and then have more epics than blues in a matter of weeks thanks to heroics and LFR that require barely any brain function or effort to complete.

You have obviously not played LFR when they release. You can't ignore the mechanics in MoP LFR or the boss will slaughter you. Try ignoring the mechanics for Elegon's adds, or Garalon's pheremones, or Tsulong's day phase, or Durumu's maze. If you don't follow those mechanics you're going to die. You also need the DPS to down a boss, which is not exactly in spades when a new tier releases. Sure you can slack off in LFR if you want to piss off the rest of the group that is trying, which will probably end with you getting booted after you fall into Elegon's pit for the sixth time.

You're also ignoring that "easy" epics only appear a good way into the expansion. For the beginning weeks it's all blues, even from heroics. Want to know how I got my first epic in the beginning of MoP? I did weeks of dailies to grind up reputation with one faction to purchase one epic item. As more tiers of content release it becomes easier to get epics because there has to be some sort of catchup mechanism for new players or alts. The old BC method of treadmill will kill the game flat-out if brought back.

I did do LFR when it launched and it was brain-numbing. I quit the game last October so I don't know about current content but if Cata is anything to go by, epics get progressively easier to get after about 6 months into the expansion to the point where I started doing Firelands within weeks of hitting 85 in 4.2 because I could just skip early-expansion content almost completely because dailies provided me with better epics. I already don't agree with Blizzard's approach of completely ignoring past expansions whenever a new one is released, let alone making previous content within the expansion obsolete with each new patch. The way it was in TBC may have been too rough but going to the opposite end of the spectrum is hardly better.

That's because epic items aren't and haven't been the end-all of the game since the start of Wrath. With each new tier of content they have to raise the ilevel of the loot. They can't just have Naxxramas offer epic items to raiders, then Ulduar releases and suddenly it's back to blues. And they can't just offer blues because the ilevel is too close between them; there's really no difference and heroics already offer said blues.

Item level is the distinguishing factor now, along with Heroic and Thunderforged items. Just because epics "aren't epic anymore" doesn't mean there's nothing for raiders to show off.

Also as long as there is transmogging then no expansion content will ever be obsolete.

I haven't heard the term welfare epics since the mass elitist outrage of BC

I thought that term had died a long, LONG time ago

I think I'm having war flashbacks

You really are not the only one hah, I used to jump between characters all the time and WoW was the MMO I did it with, I think it's nice to have variety :3

I quit WoW a few months back but after seeing the 5.4 patch trailer I am tempted to resub so I can kill Garrosh and his stupid face.

I feel like the worst WoW player EVER when I quit on a character. My highest level was 21 I think /).- But the thing that makes me really sad is when I see a lvl 90 character and I'm just like "WHY CANT I BE THAT GOOD"

It takes like, what, 2 weeks of casual play to become 90 these days I think.

Yep, game is super easy now... though LFR will still kill you due to other players being stupid.

World of Warcraft is really great game and I am also one of the crazy fans of this game. When I read the thread about this game then I just jumped in and make some opinions about this great game.
