I am actually really fucking relieved he's a white dude, considering Moffat's history with non-white/female/non-straight characters.

Yeah, there's that too. If Moffat had to write for a female doctor he'd probably cast a male companion who was somehow more competent and better at doing things than the Doctor was.

And then the Doctor would get pregnant with River Song's lesbian time baby.

Madam Vastra and Jenny aren't bad. Non-white, non-straight and not made a big deal about the fact. I'd like a whole spinoff show with them and Strax.
And Amy turned out not bad after the first few episodes of swooning over the Doctor were over. Clara is fairly smart too. River can kick asses left and right.
Now the one companion I really didn't like was Rose.
Of course the doctor would know better how to handle space alien universe destroying situations than you or me, he's been doing this for 10 times longer than we have been alive. And that wouldn't change if they made the Doctor a woman. But before that I want a ginger. Maybe Rupert Grint in a few years.

I can't agree with you about Amy, D-vid. Moffat ruined her. He turned her into into nothing more than a vessel for his wonder-baby plot device.

i can't wait til its time for the 12th doctor to die and somehow he survives and regenerates again and destroys like a million years of lore :'D him not being ginger was another disappointment for me, poor guy. always wanted to be ginger. but maybe when moffat rewrites history to give the doctor a 13th life he'll be ginger!

The Timelords had a way to give more regenerations to others. They gave the Master a full new set in exchange for helping the Doctor with something he couldn't do alone.
So technically they could fit more than 12 regenerations into the already existing lore.

I'm basically positive that the 13 bodies limitation was an artificial one made by the higher-ups in Time Lords simply to make them mortal. I remember there being mention somewhere along the line in the old series that time lords can regenerate more than that, but choose not to.

Besides, you forgot some regenerations in there.

It might be that usually Time Lords adopt a new persona when they regenerate a 13th time, so whoever they were before "dies". It would explain why there is technically 13 regenerations now, but only 12 count as The Doctor, the other one was just someone else.

As long as everything fits into lore nicely, I won't mind what happens.
I just enjoy the show~
