I'm currently screwing around in the castle trying to get people to summon me, because I lost all of my humanity trying to get here in the first place, and I reeeeeeeeeeallllyyyyyy don't want to take on Ornstein and Smough on my own

Are there any benefits to not having humanity?

Ren & Stimpy ain't that hard, really. Just get some gold pine resins.

Biggie&Smalls are only hard if you get hit, so don't get hit.

If you die with no soft humanity you have nothing but souls to lose.
Otherwise no, having soft humanities is good. (It ups your item discovery chance and gives you some defense points)

If you're not human, you can't get invaded. However, that also means that you can't summon other players to help you.

Really, having soft humanity in stock isn't that bad. You'll only lose the one you used to go human if you die. Being human basically is saying "yes i want to be online".

Summoning people makes bosses super cake and significantly less time, but some bosses have almost nobody there to be summoned. I've never seen a summon sign for Nito and never really bothered summoning for Taurus or Capra demons.

It depends on the area if it's really helpful but honestly being human is the way to properly dark souls so

The female undead merchant sells transient curses, so does Ingward.
There's a short cut that's marked by a corpse with transient curses in a pot, by the first 2 ghosts.
This shortcut can be used after the water level is down, and it leads you to almost directly in front of the 4kings boss entrance.
The 4kings do barely any damage if you stay close to them, you just need to watch out for the soul-sucking attack.
I just killed them on my SL1 character.

People have trouble with different bosses so it isn't a fact, I got fucked up by the ceaseless discharge on my Sl1 like 6 times because his smash attack kills me in one hit. (and i couldnt lure him to the instakill because that's really lame and also he kept shooting fire at me)
