Got the Black Knight Greatsword as a drop, and even though I have to double my Strength stat for it, I can tell I'm going to use it.

If you two had you can halve the strength cost.

Actually the BKG is one of the worse Ultra Greatswords (note, there's only five), and not worth the two handing. It's scaling never goes up so it can pretty quickly be outclassed depending on the build.

You have to remember it's not really the damage numbers that matter as much as the scaling. B scaling at 330 max is good, but it can be outclassed in terms of DPS and weight.

If you're going full strength with little dex, look for things with B scaling to start out with and are able to go up to +15 normal upgrade.

The Man-Serpent Greatsword is a really good weapon you can get about a quarter of the way through the game. Now, assuming you have the stats to wield the BKGS, the MSGS is gonna come in at a lesser total damage per hit, but it's also going to hit much faster and it's got a much better moveset.

However, if you manage to get your hands on a Black Knight Greataxe, you'll need 36 strength and 18 dex, which is a bit more strength than the BKGS requires, but has a very similar speed and moveset to the MSGS.

However that's just going full strength and not knowing your stats.

I wasn't so much saying I was going to use it for the stats as much as being able to one-hand it to look cool. (If that makes sense?)

Honestly if you play smart, any weapon can be viable. Use whatever you want.

That's a Morning Star. Anyway, Havel suddenly gets a lot more pulse-pounding if you attempt to parry all of his attacks. (If you suck at parrying, it'll certainly help out, too.) Try it out sometime.
